Just confirmed they actually love Aug birth month kids as long as they are big, fast, and/or skilled. Same with a kid born in any month of the year. |
All clubs will push the vast majority of kids to their new age groups because that’s what’s best for business. A club who has a top ranked team nationally or locally won’t want to risk that by putting their noses up to Aug to Dec players if it means it will help their teams win which will help the bring in new players from outside clubs which will ultimately make them money so the cycle can continue. |
I’m the poster you quoted and I agree with you 100%. |
For youngers maybe For olders probabaly not especially for a top team. The olders trapped players will have the option to do whatever they want. This is because clubs dont want to lose these players. Also because they might be working with college coaches and they dont want to start over with a new team. But littles parents and clubs that don't matter have no idea about any of this. |
College coaches don’t care about kids changing teams… at all. Happens all the time. Top players who are misaligned probably will have an option to play with their correct grade sophomore/junior year. That will be a very small percentage of kids. |
You have no idea what you're talking about. College coaches 100% care which team and level players are playing at. Also players dont want to risk losing out on a scholorship just because a club wants to win games that dont matter anymore. You really have no clue how things work for olders or top teams. I feel sorry for anyone that listens to you. |
Seriously!! |
I'm waiting to see when and how clubs implement this. Curious if tryouts are handled differently, earlier etc. |
I didn’t say they don’t care if kids change levels. I said they don’t care if kids change teams. And they don’t. |
You are ridiculious. How exactly would you change teams without changing levels? I'll wait. |
MLS1 will switch to SY because they either host or play a lot of tournaments. It is a big business. Only MLSN Academy stay in BY. They have already played up this season and have been beaten badly. |
We have 3 09 biobanding players. They are bigger and stronger than our average B10 players. They take 3 starter positions. Considering MLS Academy now plays up and gets beaten. Our team is aiming not only for the playoffs, but the final 8 or even the final 4. Think about the 3 B10 parents, whose sons' game time gets cut short. |
We have quite a few ecnl clubs in our area. Our market is over saturated with mlsnext clubs. It’s fairly common to have kids move between clubs within the same league, it’s all about getting on the field to showcase yourself come recruiting years. All the best in your crusade against August birthdays. |
Trapped olders will definitely want to go down a year if they want to be recruited. Competitive areas will see real turnover on top teams, even before the ECNL push to put kids on age asap. And then those top trapped ECRL players on olders teams are going to be looking to move. No one is safe! |
Makes no sense. So now you're argueing that if players that are being recruited want to stay at the level they're playing to maintain currently defined expectations with college coaches that they change clubs? 🤔 |
