Yes, I believe so.

A better answer is no

MLS1 will go SY, but cheaters can still use biobanding to continue to play down to stay in MLS1.

When MLS Next teams use biobanding as a way to play down for wins then sure I agree its cheating.

But if you haven't noticed MLS N has tried hiding younger player scores in multiple ways. The reason they're doing this is because MLS N is setup for identifying and developing talent so they can play professionally. In this environment biobanding down isnt a good thing. Its a last resort for players about to be dropped.

Leagues like ECNL and GA and whatever are setup for getting players into college. In this environment playing down cant be accepted because recruiters are only looking at players for 1-2 years. Also when they're recruiting the first thing they want to know is which year will this player graduate. After this is established they'll look at other attributes and rank the player accordingly.

The person thats so passionate about playing down is likely a private school parent that bought into the nonsense that they can hold their kid back in school so they can be the biggest and oldest. Surpirse! Soccer doesnt work that way. Go find a different sport. Oh and btw private schools want you to regrade your kid because they make and extra year or two of tuition this way. Why find more students when you can just make the current students stay in school longer.

No one wants kids to be a reclass. We are just calling you out for thinking an Aug kid is playing down.

Also you don’t know what you’re talking about my daughter goes to private school and not 1 girl she went to school with from kindergarten to now 9th grade is held back actually it’s much more common for girls to start school early. So they are young for their grade. Will be 16 to start their senior year.

Go outside and breath some fresh air. The grad year monster isn’t real. You’re going to be okay.

It's funny you write in such absolutes.

You think you know everything but whatever you write shows how close minded and incorrect you are.

Some people will just have to learn the hard way that theyre not wanted. For you it will happen at tryouts next season.
The grad monster is a figment of your imagination. Just like the villainous August girl that went to school on time is your bogeyman.

What you dont understand because you're a littles parent or playing on a team with no chance of being recruited to play in college is that playing down a grade is a trap. Choosing to play down for wins is not goid you think you're doing some great thing but you're not. Adversity and being challenged are what develops a player. The longer Aug birthdays play down the harder it will be to play on a team with players their age. Eventually you'll be forced to do something. Because you chose to play down what you'll do is hold your kid back in school. This is because its easier and it validates your stupid decisions. Leagues and clubs dont want to be the reason why children are held back in school this is why the top clubs wont let Aug players play down a grade. Since you are hard headed I'm sure you'll shop around and find some kind of land of misfit toys team to play on and they'll be terrible. Instead of wasting all your time trying to play down just play on the B team with players your kids grade. Then work your way to the A team. This is the correct pathway.

This is just nonsense word salad. Aug players will play their correct age group just like Jan players do now. It will be no different. It was not different before (pre 2016), why would it suddenly change now? Every top club will try and collect as many early fall birthdays as possible for each age group. No one is gonna give a shit about what you’re saying here.

When top clubs publish their age groupings for tryouts in the spring they will all be 8/1-7/31.

I know you can’t stop posting for some reason, and clearly you have some sort of internal issue going on, but take a break. Move on to a different argument or something. Find a different angle to cry about. This is getting old.

No, just like back in 2016 Aug birthdays will be told to play on a team with players their grade not on the team with players a grade below them.

For the exact reasons PP listed.

Dude, I know this is you. Just stop. Aug birthdays played in their SY grouping back then. I know because I was there and coached. No one, at any large club, cared what grade a player was in. They only cared if they were eligible for an age group. That’s it. We didn’t even collect what grade players were in!

Oh so now you're larping as a coach.

I was there as well and top teams would not let players play down a grade. This is because players and teams are an investment. It takes time to develop a winning club. Shortcuts like playing down dont work long term.

What club are you at the values long term investment? Clubs want to win now and value $$$. The only clubs making money by investing long term in players are mls academies.

All clubs will push the vast majority of kids to their new age groups because that’s what’s best for business.
A club who has a top ranked team nationally or locally won’t want to risk that by putting their noses up to Aug to Dec players if it means it will help their teams win which will help the bring in new players from outside clubs which will ultimately make them money so the cycle can continue.

For youngers maybe

For olders probabaly not especially for a top team. The olders trapped players will have the option to do whatever they want. This is because clubs dont want to lose these players. Also because they might be working with college coaches and they dont want to start over with a new team. But littles parents and clubs that don't matter have no idea about any of this.

College coaches don’t care about kids changing teams… at all. Happens all the time.

Top players who are misaligned probably will have an option to play with their correct grade sophomore/junior year. That will be a very small percentage of kids.

You have no idea what you're talking about. College coaches 100% care which team and level players are playing at. Also players dont want to risk losing out on a scholorship just because a club wants to win games that dont matter anymore.

You really have no clue how things work for olders or top teams. I feel sorry for anyone that listens to you.

I didn’t say they don’t care if kids change levels. I said they don’t care if kids change teams. And they don’t.

You are ridiculious.

How exactly would you change teams without changing levels?

I'll wait.

We have quite a few ecnl clubs in our area. Our market is over saturated with mlsnext clubs. It’s fairly common to have kids move between clubs within the same league, it’s all about getting on the field to showcase yourself come recruiting years.

All the best in your crusade against August birthdays.

Makes no sense. So now you're argueing that if players that are being recruited want to stay at the level they're playing to maintain currently defined expectations with college coaches that they change clubs? 🤔
Your reading comprehension could use some work. And I'm not the PP.

Or maybe its the same person spreading the rumor to multiple parents and coaches.

Until MLS Next makes an announcement none of it matters.

They are fake. MLSN is staying BY because of unwanted associations with school year. If they change the age cutoff it will literally ruin everything. MLSN is top dawg anyway they can do whatever they want. Plus my kid was born in Q2 and I would spontaneously combust if got moved to MLSN2 next season.

Specific clubs are being named so I think it’s more likely that people are being truthful. You’re right though, nothing for sure until mlsnext announces it.

At least MLSN has biobanding for desperate new Q3/Q4 to play down to remain in MLSN 1 if it goes to SY.

Trapped olders will definitely want to go down a year if they want to be recruited. Competitive areas will see real turnover on top teams, even before the ECNL push to put kids on age asap. And then those top trapped ECRL players on olders teams are going to be looking to move. No one is safe!

Exactly. My area has 4 ECNL clubs and 4 GA club all within a 30 mile radius of each other. All the Aug-Dec kids at ECNL club 3 and 4 will tryout to make ECNL club 1 and 2 ant the new age group. All the GA girls will tryout to make ECNL clubs.

Clubs want to win games they will take the best players which help them win games even at the older age groups.

U19 next year is the only age group we won’t see much change and that’s because 08/09s were destined to merge next year anyways. But all the Aug to Dec 2009s will 100% want to play 9/10s (U17) because that age group is highly recruited and a lot of U19s stop caring as much because the job is finished more many of them and it’s time to go on cruise control, graduate and move on.

So I asked my club director today. He said no official announcement from MLSN about the age changing and as far as he knows it’s still BY. But he did say they had a coaches meeting and many directors told MLSN that it would be a nightmare to manage every other team as 8/1 and just boys as 1/1.

If you’re at an ECNL team and move to another ECNL team regardless if one team is better they are both ECNL so considered the same level.

Makes no sense. So now you're argueing that if players that are being recruited want to stay at the level they're playing to maintain currently defined expectations with college coaches that they change clubs? 🤔
Your reading comprehension could use some work. And I'm not the PP.

It’s the same person who has no idea what’s going on. Don’t waste your time arguing they are too stupid to know when they are wrong. Which is a super power tbf.

Or maybe its the same person spreading the rumor to multiple parents and coaches.

Until MLS Next makes an announcement none of it matters.

Specific clubs are being named so I think it’s more likely that people are being truthful. You’re right though, nothing for sure until mlsnext announces it.

So I asked my club director today. He said no official announcement from MLSN about the age changing and as far as he knows it’s still BY. But he did say they had a coaches meeting and many directors told MLSN that it would be a nightmare to manage every other team as 8/1 and just boys as 1/1.

I spoke with our DOC and he said complaining about managing different groupings is ridiculious. He also told me your DOC is a pansy.

Well he said many MLSN directors complained which means there’s a lot of pansy club directors which doesn’t surprise for a sport like men’s soccer.

Let me tell you a secret...

BY teams can always play up in SY in
tournamants if they want to participate.

But because MLSN is the top league for boys soccer if ECNL teams what to play against the top teams they'll need to play up.

Its one or the other.

No benefit for p2p MLS1 to stay in BY. Now, MLS Academy plays up this season. So if you have half a brain, you can already predict what p2p MLS1 will do next year.

SY wins.
