Woah. TRO time. Shit's about to get real now.

Merkley’s lawsuit emphasizes “three acts of direct interference” in which the senator says Trump, some Senate leaders and lawyer William Burck concealed documents from the U.S. Senate. Merkley said these documents are necessary for senators to fulfill their duty and provide advice on the nominee.

Merkley said the documents are from Kavanaugh’s three years as White House Staff Secretary and Kavanaugh’s time as a lawyer in the White House Counsel’s Office under President George W. Bush.

The lawsuit seeks to end the interference from the executive branch and that the Senate withhold its vote on the confirmation until all Kavanaugh’s records are released and the Senate has time to review them.

LOL they're saying Swetnick should have gone to police! In 1981? At G-Prep? The raft of lawyers and money those boys had at their disposal would scare away the most determined public school girl. Kavanaugh's mother was a judge! She's being derided now in 2018! In 1981 she would have blasted into the ground if she tried to report those rich boys.

The only reason it's the 11th hour is because Republicans said it's the 11th hour. There's no rush to confirm a SCJ; see Garland.

Jesus, I know. I had to look up the year the movie The Accused came out because it was so controversial at the time. 1988.

Given that this is a lifetime appointment, this is barely the first hour.

And yet again, people wonder why victims don't report.

TRO's by their very nature are filed in the 11th hour:

"Temporary restraining orders (TRO) are short-term pre-trial temporary injunctions. To obtain a TRO, a party must convince the judge that he or she will suffer immediate irreparable injury unless the order is issued. If the judge is convinced that a temporary restraining order is necessary, he or she may issue the order immediately, without informing the other parties and without holding a hearing. These orders are intended to be stop-gap measures, and only last until the court holds a hearing on whether or not to grant a preliminary injunction."

You're suggesting public school girls threw themselves at rich cocky alpha male boys. "Meet boys"

I was a teenage public school girl from MoCo (though a bit later) and all of my friends thought finding a private school boyfriend was desirable. Looking back on it, I'm not sure why we thought this. Perhaps the allure of the unknown?

Maybe because you assumed they were all rich and didn't know they some were entitled alleged rapists?

To be fair there are entitled rapists in all walks of life. I think we wanted to meet new boys that weren't the same old boys we'd known our entire lives.

FBI crime statistics say most rapists are under age 30 and non-white male. But yeah, keep spreading the falsehood rich white dorks from Prep are predators.

The Democrats recently FOIA'd Kavanaugh's records from the Nat'l Archives, and I believe they just got some. Something may be in there prompting this, especially since he's specifically saying the documents being concealed are from a particular time and place. See also Dianne Feinstein coming out with evidence of another one of Kavanaugh's lies a couple pages back.

Or watch Sixteen Candles again. The geek “hooks up” with the cheerleader at the end when she is black out drunk and she confesses the next day she doesn’t know what happens. Then she happily makes out with him the next day. Watched it recently with my kids amd was horrified.

In 1982, the girls would have been told it was their fault for going to a party and drinking. The old “she asked for it” defense.

Most CONVICTED rapists, right? Not most men who commit rapes? Those sets of people aren’t the same.
