Agreed. Women in this area are incredibly nasty and vindictive. I recently put an item up for sale on a crafting forum with well over 1,000,000 members. It's a rare, coveted item my cousin picked up for me and my price is very reasonable. I got ONE snide comment and that person turned out to be from the DC area. Out of over a million members. Color me not surprised.

LOL - it's just one more thing about the a lot of the women in this area. I don't know what's in the water. Just happened and pissed me off. My point is, is that nothing would surprise me if it comes from women here. They are as cut-throat as they come.

Agree with all except I don't think that these women even care about the balance of the court. They would know with Kavanaugh out there will just another far right conservative justice to replace him. This is about integrity, not balance.

If this is true, this woman’s claims will not be heard.
And, she should probably be investigated and charged with false statements if found that she has not been honest.

Nice catch by the WaPo . . . I mean, how in the world do you justify that so many women with so much to lose by coming forward -- their safety and the safety of their families, their jobs and professional reputations if they lied -- would just happen to have overlapping stories about this man and how he comported himself in HS and college? It is completely unbelievable to me why people would find this to be unproblematic or not warranting at the very least an investigation to clear his name. This is far beyond a hearing. This goes into criminal behavior.

Swetnick goes on:

“I also witnessed efforts by Mark Judge, Brett Kavanaugh and others to cause girls to become inebriated and disoriented so they could then be ‘gang raped’ in a side room or bedroom by a ‘train’ of numerous boys. I have a firm recollection of seeing boys lined up outside rooms and many of these parties waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room. These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh.

In approximately 1982, I became the victim of one of these ‘gang’ or ‘train’ rapes where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present. Shortly after the incident, I shared what had transpired with at least two other people. During the incident, I was incapacitated without my consent and unable to fight off the boys raping me. I believe I was drugged using Quaaludes or something similar placed in what I was drinking.”

This echoes another part of the New Yorker story, an interview with a former girlfriend of Mark Judge’s named Elizabeth Rasor:

Rasor recalled that Judge had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman. Rasor said that Judge seemed to regard it as fully consensual. She said that Judge did not name others involved in the incident, and she has no knowledge that Kavanaugh participated. But Rasor was disturbed by the story and noted that it undercut Judge’s protestations about the sexual innocence of Georgetown Prep.

They are slandered, slut shamed, asked every personal question in the book, called liars, called whores. Sometimes they receive death threats, they have to move their families. Even when they tell WHEN the assault occurs (ie in Ford's case 35 years ago, etc), people don't believe them, their families and friends tell them it wasn't intentional, he didn't mean it, they get shamed and ostracized.

So they, actually, have a lot to lose.

Everyone did this in high school! If you could get into a Sidwell or a St Albans or Landon party and you were a girl, that was a desirable thing to do! Stop acting like people from other less 'elite' locations wouldn't be stoked to go to G-Prep party. You went there to meet boys! You're nuts. Being considered a "national hero by the media" is not a life goal for many of us. Thank goodness I don't have any terrible information about public figures because I have a LOT to lose.

Are you insane? Living with death threats and moving your family to a hidden location is nothing to lose? Most ordinary people have no desire to be "famous" and hounded by the media. They just want to get on with their lives. We're talking about women with successful careers, most of them working humbly in service to others.
