Does no one remember Carrie doesn’t want kids, isn’t good with them and Aiden has 3 kids? How would this even work when she couldn’t even take care of his dog. |
I was a big fan of the original series when I was in college and it was first airing (I didn’t start watching until 2001). Definitely a defining show for me at the time. I attempted to watch this reboot twice and it is terrible. It both manages to both have nothing to do with the original and try to hard to keep the same tone. Even the outfits -which were often outrageous but always fun in the original- are terrible. |
I used to watch SATC when I was home with three toddlers and think to myself “It could be worse. I could still be single!” |
It’s bad because no one from the original show is involved, except Michael Patrick King and the 3 women. The heart of the production - Candace Bushnell, Pat Field, the original writing team, Darren Star, Kim Cattrell - have all but publicly disavowed the spin-off. Note that they never actually use the title “Sex and The City” when referring to AJLT, as Bushnell still owns the rights to the title but not the characters themselves. It’s pretty bad when Bushnell won’t even grant use of the SATC name. |
I will give the show the chance to remember that. I find it entirely possible that this Carrie/Aiden reunion is nothing more than a dinner where they reminisce. Or a story arc where they don't stay together for some of the reasons above. Plus, it's been 15 years? Aiden's kids are hardly babies. Carrie has a nice bond with Charlotte's daughter. |
Must be nice to be so well-set financially, creatively, and professionally, that you can sh** all over the hit show made from your book. |
You can’t buy creativity, respect, or good taste. Some things are best left at peace. Further, the three main actresses don’t need the money. |
They really need to put this mess out of its misery. Who keeps greenlighting this crap? |
Did you watch How I Met Your Mother? Much of life is right place or right time or both. |
His kids are grown, or mostly grown, now. She'd only need to be friendly toward them. |
People who know even a hate-watch is still a watch, buzz is buzz, and you are making them money. |
It's pathetic that there is still a subset of women who are obsessed with these characters. Grow up, ladies. It was pathetic when they did movies, it's even more pathetic that they have this non-sequel. |
I enjoyed it, flaws and all. Except Che. |
No, no, no. Aiden is a good guy. Caring, hard working, sweet, patient. Sociopathic self-involved Carrie does not deserve him. |
