It's a first for me. But there is something really personally slimly about Terry that I can't exactly identify. Trump is just a mirage in VA; Terry would be the real thing and I can't shake the sense that he's a bit of a crook.

He's like a TV movie villain.

Crook LOL that would be Trump and Youngkin

Let's see Trump stole how much from taxpayers with his election lies that Youngkin supports $519 million and counting. How about what it will cost Virginia taxpayers when youngkin wants a sham audit you want to pay for that garbage?

Four (4) dead relatives + one (1) dad disguised in sunglasses voting for Trump is a Hundred % of the voter fraud committed in PA in 2020.

TX LG Dan Patrick still needs to make it rain $2M in PA.

VA's voter fraud LOL no. So there you go another Youngkin lie.

Youngkin is slime plain and simple he is a liar.

You have no proof of Youngkin doing anything crooked but I promise you I can give you links to plenty of crooked things that Terry McAuliffe has been involved in. Selling access to donors when he worked with the Clintons, the VISA issue. Can go on and on......

Literally associated w/ Trump is to be associated w a criminal enterprise. Pray tell why the f**k does everyone around Trump get convicted…even the ones that got pardoned immediately go on to commit new crimes that will land them behind bars (see you in hell, Bannon)

Youngkin is not associated with Trump so you have no evidence of fraud or anything criminal against him just the same BS over and over again. Address your candidate Terry McAuliffe and I will take you seriously.

Babe. I’m sorry but saying you’re honored to get an endorsement is associating w/ the person. You really are just beyond help.

Babe really? You need help and a class on the way to speak to people. Showing your age .

That is because you now have Democrats voting for Youngkin and the issue for them is Education. This will be the main talking point for the next few weeks.

See more signs than I have ever seen in McLean too. Will see how it turns out. McAuliffe still has the edge.

The guilt by association, linking Youngkin to Trump, is not working. Many people who didn’t vote for Trump will definitely vote for Youngkin.

Does anyone know why republicans aren’t bringing up McAuliffe’s fund raising for Morrisey ? Why would they be silent on this?

I just noticed a few pop up in my N Arlington neighborhood too. One was a house that had a Trump sign outside, so that was unsurprising. But there’s also 3 others on the same street (about 5-6 block span). I’m concerned liberals have messed up in the one area that democrats care about more than any other … schools. We all know (most) liberals will otherwise set aside their political beliefs when it comes to their children’s education. I at least admit I’m guilty of this. Sure I care about equity and want the government to help poor people, immigrants, etc., but like many others, I’m still going to spend a lot of money to live in an area where my family doesn’t have to deal with gun violence, poor performing schools, etc. You start messing with the education of the children of the UMC (shutting down schools, focusing more on equitable grading than test scores, getting the FBI involved in school board meetings, prioritizing bathroom policies that affect a small subset of students, but not reporting sexual assaults, etc.) and suddenly voters want to push back. I’m not saying Republicans will be good for schools by any means, but I worry people want a way to push back when they feel they’re losing control over their children’s education.

1000000% agree.

I live in Mount Vernon, VA on the Rt. 1 corridor in Fairfax County. We have lots of poverty, immigrants, homelessness etc. Mount Vernon HS is the lowest ranked high school in the county and West Potomac HS is in the bottom 1/3 in the county. One of the elementary schools that feeds into West Potomac is Waynewood Elementary. It is 85% caucasian, 2% FARMS and 1% are ESOL students (probably mom and dad are highly educated expats and speak their native language at home and the ESOL student is a kindergartner.) It's amazing how many ultra liberal people I meet who move into the Waynewood neighborhood from DC, or the city of Alexandria, just to send their children to Waynewood. They talk about how great and highly rated Waynewood is, but are so concerned about the middle school and the high school. I know someone who lived in a gorgeous townhouse that was zoned for Hybla Valley Elementary - which is almost the exact opposite of Waynewood. 82% FARMS, 62% ESOL, 3% caucasian, 83% hispanic. Where did they move once Larla hit kindergarten age? McLean. And then the Waynewood parents - once Larla gets to be in 6th grade, they either send her to private or move to McLean.

It worked for Newsom, but Newsom's opponent was batshit crazy with no political history and a treasure trove of bad soundbites from his radio career.

Youngkin isn't so easy to sink. He's educated, accomplished, a self-made multi-millionaire and CEO, he gives back, and he's a NOVA resident.

I’m disgusted with the Democrats running local schools, and voting for Youngkin is the best way to express my dissatisfaction with their incompetence and hypocrisy.

Hysterical that the left is trying to paint this as antisemitic.
You have a billionaire who has bankrolled left-wing candidates around the country from president to district attorneys to school board members and he happens to be Jewish.

Citation?

Trumpers infiltrated the TJ PTA.

Sounds more like a confession than accusation.

Nothing?

So it’s just just another lie by Youngkin and the other Trumphumpers.

You hit the nail on the head, PP. I’m really upset that the Dems are throwing away an advantage. We still can’t seem to unite like the GOP and that will lead to many defections.

As I get closer to D-day I think my disgust for Trump far outweighs my annoyance with my own party. I would not want to play any part in helping that man steal an election. The GOP would be far more likely to win if Trump wasn’t looming large for 2024.

Trump is not "looming large for 2024;" that's a myth in his own mind.

I go back and forth as well, PP, but in the end, I think I'm going to vote for Youngkin. It's a first for me. But there is something really personally slimly about Terry that I can't exactly identify. How often do Trump endorsed candidates lose GOP primaries? He still controls the party and he knows it.

Exactly. And Youngkin has shown us how willingly he will bend over for Trump.

He’s pushing the election integrity and CRT lies.

Dude. We all know what he said. Youngkin and the Trumphumpers are absolutely taking it out of context.

Can you go a single day without lying or misleading? It is possible?

And, I bet they vote Democrat. Just like Terry is discussing redistricting to balance population in schools but his went to Potomac--an expensive private school. I think one kid went to Langley (according to what I have seen on DCUM somewhere). Terry himself never went to public school --all through college.

I’m the PP and I’ll add that I’m really over the loudest dems claiming anyone who doesn’t agree with them is a CRAZY TRUMP SUPPORTER. It’s like there can’t be reasonable debate/discussion anymore. Even over something like does the science continue to support masking in schools once children are vaccinated? I don’t care which side of the issue you’re on, but if we can’t discuss amongst ourselves the various infection rate studies, how things are going in other countries with different policies, etc. without Trump being evoked, then we’re screwed.

Trump is gone. He lost the election. It’s time to get back to grown up discussions.
