Someone on here obviously has a May-July daughter who’s already on the bench and will soon find their way off the top team which is why they are kicking and screaming about Aug to Dec kids are cheaters for playing down.

Nope September and will probably stay with the current team even after switching from BY to SY.
The millions of August kids that went to school on time will bump all Sept kids down to rec. The Aug kids will then all not go on to college but will become youth soccer league management making a rule to only allow August born kids to play to spite you. The fear is real.

Sorry that Aug was picked as oldest instead of Sept, time to move on.

This is dumb nonsense.
nonsense is arguing for your kid to be oldest with gymnastics logic

Gymnastics logic is thinking when you play your kid down that nobody will notice how much of a loser you are.
August is oldest. Those the rules. They took away trapped and made your September kid the the 2nd oldest month and you still can't be happy. Insane.

Parents don't get to invent mystery rules that merely benefit their kid.

You and plus man are the sole reason special rules can't exist, your self interested lobbying campaign is transparent.

With grades as your beacon, stick to school soccer.

You dont know how the internet works do you?

Every time you respond with GY and playing down nonsense It gives me an opportunity to highlight why you're a cheater. Most people dont have time to review the rules in detail which is what people like you expect and look forward to when you expoit them. Providing education and explaing how you intend to cheat by playing down helps others to understand why they dont what losers like you on their team and what to watch out for if they ever run across a cheater like you.

The team will be decided by 8/1-7/31, not grade. By your definitions, currently, 2/3 of players are cheating as they play against one grade lower.

The only players who are cheating are biobanding players who play 1 year down, against 2 grade lower players.

Haven’t been on this thread for bit and man it has gotten odd.

The ‘playing in your new age group is cheating’ guy seems to be the last remnant of the old BY guard. Though he seems to post 20 times a day. And the SY +30 bro is still around which is always nice. At least he is kinda cool.

There isn’t much left. MLSN is clearly going to go SY, no more talks of BY clubs/silos of just BY and BY only tournaments…

And all this time I thought “playing in your own age group is cheating” guy and “SY+” guy were the same.

Another poster who was here from the start, but just occasionally checking in because there's not really much else to learn. The play your age group person is beyond annoying (I hate I'm even acknowledging them). I'll be back for any final MLS announcements or "exceptions" in the other bigger leagues.

Definitely seems like same know it all the girl dad of a September born. I hope that guy is the team manager, that would be hysterical.

It will be fun reading the thread you post when clubs puts your aug birthday kid on the B team and not on a grade down A team. You wont realize it but the clubs are trying to save you from yourslef and more important saving your kid from the embarrassment of playing down. You'll try to force the issue and they'll just cut your kid from the B team.

Playing down is for losers. Everyone should play in their correct age group. When you cannot, you are a loser in most players' opinions.

Playing down is for losers. Unfortunately theres a keyboard warrior defending it. It wont matter, clubs wont let crazy parents embarrass their B team kid by letting them play down a grade on the lower level A team.

What do you mean by playing down?
Explain who’s playing down next year if Aug 2011 to July 2012 is new age group?
MLSN is the only league that allows playing “down” because of biobanding.

Under SY the eligibility window is from 8/1-7/31. If your school district starts 9/1 this means Aug birthday players can play with their grade in school or they can play on a team a grade down.

Most normal people would put their kid on a team with players their grade. Losers that found a loophole will play their kid on the team thats a grade younger. This is called playing down for wins.

The problem with doing this is if you ever want recruiters to take your kid seriously they'll need to play on a team with players their grade when they get older. So why waste everyone's time playing down.

If your Aug birthday kid isn't good enough to play on the A team with players their grade. Have some decency and play on the B team with players their age. Don't steal minutes from some other kid thats a grade below yours.

I’ve never heard anyone with Jan to July kids in BY complain about playing against kids Aug to December who are the grade below…

It was birth month doesn’t matter RAE isn’t real and your kid must suck.

Now that it’s switch to 8/1 all the kids who are age eligible based off new age groups but playing with kids in the grade below are now cheaters??

That’s insane liberal logic…

The tryout will be just based on 8/1 to 7/31. There will be no grade mentioned. If you really go for the cheaters, save your energy on MLS biobanding players. They can be 20 to 23 months older and 2 grades above the youngest player in the team.

Players getting to choose to play up is very rare. Name an instance where a club forced a player to play up above their age group or stop complaining. Teams put players on clubs.

Top 20 nationally team.

Our club will let currently trapped players do whatever they want. Maybe they'll choose for the youngers but not the olders.

Just going to give you the facts ECNL has already had a meeting about this and unless a kid is exceptional they want all kids moved into their new age groups to help get this process started
Starting Fall 26.

They will allow kids to play up however they do not want clubs doing what you’re saying. And keeping large groups up and keeping Birth year teams together.

Your club is just keeping face for now so parents think they have nothing to worry about.

You’ll see what I’m talking about after the tryout window is over and you see a bunch of new faces on the team.

Yeah it would look pretty bad for ECNL if they lobbied for SY to make it easier for college coaches and recruiting and then all their top clubs ignore SY and try to keep teams together by BY. It is never going to happen. They will all reform teams based around the SY brackets. To think otherwise is wishful thinking.

2012/2013 tryout in SoCal is Feb. After the new ECNL team is formed, how do they proceed for the Spring season? I will think 30% or more players will be cut. Are they going to stay in the team for the next 3 months knowingly they are no longer belong to this team?
