Playing down is for losers. Unfortunately theres a keyboard warrior defending it. It wont matter, clubs wont let crazy parents embarrass their B team kid by letting them play down a grade on the lower level A team. |

What do you mean by playing down? Explain who’s playing down next year if Aug 2011 to July 2012 is new age group? MLSN is the only league that allows playing “down” because of biobanding. |

Someone on here obviously has a May-July daughter who’s already on the bench and will soon find their way off the top team which is why they are kicking and screaming about Aug to Dec kids are cheaters for playing down. |

Under SY the eligibility window is from 8/1-7/31. If your school district starts 9/1 this means Aug birthday players can play with their grade in school or they can play on a team a grade down. Most normal people would put their kid on a team with players their grade. Losers that found a loophole will play their kid on the team thats a grade younger. This is called playing down for wins. The problem with doing this is if you ever want recruiters to take your kid seriously they'll need to play on a team with players their grade when they get older. So why waste everyone's time playing down. If your Aug birthday kid isn't good enough to play on the A team with players their grade. Have some decency and play on the B team with players their age. Don't steal minutes from some other kid thats a grade below yours. |

Players getting to choose to play up is very rare. Name an instance where a club forced a player to play up above their age group or stop complaining. Teams put players on clubs. |

The millions of August kids that went to school on time will bump all Sept kids down to rec. The Aug kids will then all not go on to college but will become youth soccer league management making a rule to only allow August born kids to play to spite you. The fear is real. Sorry that Aug was picked as oldest instead of Sept, time to move on. |

Top 20 nationally team. Our club will let currently trapped players do whatever they want. Maybe they'll choose for the youngers but not the olders. |

August is oldest. Those the rules. They took away trapped and made your September kid the the 2nd oldest month and you still can't be happy. Insane. Parents don't get to invent mystery rules that merely benefit their kid. You and plus man are the sole reason special rules can't exist, your self interested lobbying campaign is transparent. With grades as your beacon, stick to school soccer. |

You dont know how the internet works do you? Every time you respond with GY and playing down nonsense It gives me an opportunity to highlight why you're a cheater. Most people dont have time to review the rules in detail which is what people like you expect and look forward to when you expoit them. Providing education and explaing how you intend to cheat by playing down helps others to understand why they dont what losers like you on their team and what to watch out for if they ever run across a cheater like you. |
