What are you talking about? I’m in the Facebook group and have never seen a doxxing attempt of anyone let alone a teacher. That would definitely break the group rules. I’ve found the group to be much nicer even when there is hardcore debate about stuff than normal discourse on AEM.

Does everyone realize what a nonsensical discussion this is? That twitter account was full of screenshots, not just of the FOIA which revealed who asked for Mary's APS emails, but screenshots mostly of APE's FB page. It promoted Mary heavily, using APE's/Miranda's words against them, and tagged current SB members and Arlington Dems. It's clear that Smart Restart was behind it (just from who exposed the handle, and those who followed the page), but I really want to know if Mary Kadera's campaign coordinated with them. Honestly, if Kadera's campaign coordinated with them, I'll sit this election out. No thank you.

3.) If you scrolled the Twitter page, it was very Mary Kadera friendly, and kept tagging @ArlDems and all SB members with screenshots from APE's Facebook page. The Twitter handle owner obviously has it out for Miranda Turner and APE, and wants to take them down.

4.) Once owner realized it wasn't going their way, they made the handle private.

5.) Drama comes here because, anon. We discuss and discuss again. A worse version of AEM.

6.) Seriously though, SR should focus on the SB and Syphax, and leave APE members alone.

7.) Mary Kadera's campaign may be connected or not. But why pay FOIA money if you won't benefit from it? Doing it for the drama doesn't make sense.

I enrolled mine in private this year because my kids were absolutely miserable and regressing in ipad school. Yes, seems like this should qualify her more. First, she still has a kid in APS and will have 2 next year. Second, she knows what it's like to have a kid struggling in DL so much so that she had to seek a private option. She has said in posts that her daughter desperately wants to return to Drew and that she will if it is 5 days. This makes her actually MORE invested in APS, I think.

Plenty of people pulled their kids halfway through the year to schools that are open 5 days and plan to send their kids back to APS as soon as they are open 5 days. My street has 23 kids they could be in APS and 9 left for private over the summer once virtual was announced or during the year as their child was struggling with virtual school.

Mary's going to lose b/c she is a weak establishment candidate facing an extremely angry pre-organized electorate. She is not establishment enough like Cristina to get the young democrats to really come out in the caucus. but she is establishment enough that the angry parents of arlington will turn out for the caucus. Remember the caucus doesn't get a big turnout and its an off year. Wacky Steve Krieger did well in the first round of polling last year- but his support only consisted of angry Key parents. Miranda has all the parents who are upset about the schools not being opened behind her. Despite what you might think from AEM, from chatting with others that is virtually all elementary parents and a good chunk of middle high parents as well.

I'm sure the dems don't want to heavily support Miranda. Perhaps this will be enough to get them out of the sb endorsement business....

I don't understand the hatred. In hindsight, they were right. We opened for hybrid because the governor forced the issue and despite the gnashing of teeth from the Smart Restart group... nothing happened.

"In hindsight" doesn't matter AT ALL. No one can make retroactive decisions. APS has made reasonable choices all along with the information & CDC guidelines available at the time.

I dislike APE because they kept pushing to open no matter what. Vaccines/no vaccines. Surge/no surge. And made empty claims of science and data. And the teacher/Duran bashing was out of hand. It was all so irrational and nasty.

Stop trying to rewrite history. Duran already had plans to open and SR was able to push on the ventilation analysis/air cleaners.
