Same here. Tomorrow my CC gets charged the full remaining balance :/

While they might not let you cancel - they may let you reschedule. Call if you decide you want to delay.

I am staying at a Disney property and it says I have until 5 days before to cancel and it’s fully refundable. Where are you staying?

Packages have a 30 day cancellation (room + tickets and/or dining.)

Go over to the beach for a day, rent a boat, go to the playgrounds, etc. And practice good hand washing. And I'd be sure to take shoes off and wear flip flops in the hotel room, if you are in a hotel and be sure to take showers right away and not sit on the beds with your street clothes on.

The only thing that concerns me is the swimming pool. I am avoiding those for sure -- might be irrational but too many germs in the pools and hot tubs.

FYI .. Disney tickets never lose value. If they expire, you can apply the purchase price to new tickets.

Also regarding pools, chlorine will kill the virus though it's not advised if you're already sick.

DP. Is this true? I have a bunch of Disney tickets I was planning to use this spring, but keeping on eye on coronavirus. They expire at the end of this year. They were specially priced tickets I bought at a school auction -- do you think I can just give them back to Disney if they expire and they'll apply it to new tickets?

I am 100% sure of this for tickets bought directly through Disney and maybe 95% sure of any tickets that are completely unused and valid. Almost all tickets will have an expiration date after the first day is used (the exception are the paper tickets from the 70s, IIRC) but other than that, the face value of the ticket can be applied to new tickets.

I once was gifted tickets. DH was supposed to go to a conference and we were given tickets for when we were there. Our family ended up not tagging along to the conference. We tried to use the tickets a few months later and we were out of luck. Not all tickets can just be extended or used towards a future visit.

I'm assuming if you buy full price tickets and end up changing your date, you can apply the ticket to a future date. If you got some deal and it is expired, you can't just use it later after it is expired.

You should call Disney and ask for an authoritative answer. Customer service is part of the Disney brand so this is something they've been consistent on.

You can't use the expired tickets. You can use the value of the expired tickets against the purchase of current tickets so long as they are tickets you purchased from Disney. I am less sure about tickets purchased through a reseller but still pretty confident so long as it's a reputable reseller like Cosco or Undercover Tourist.

True. I guess if an airplane ride not car. By summer it could be contained.

No I wouldn’t cancel.

Marco Island. FL in late March. Just me and my husband so I’m not planning to cancel. I’ve cancelled a few business trips to CA but see no reason to avoid a resort in FL

Our plans were always to go to Asheville, NC for spring break. I suppose I am glad that as it turned out we were always planning to drive and stay within the US for spring break. As of right now, I am planning to keep these plans. I don’t feel Asheville is higher risk than DC in my opinion. If that changes in the next month, I’ll reassess these plans.

I am still planning a trip to South Dakota in June (haven’t bought flights yet but planning to do so soon). I’m still planning to drive to the Jersey shore for a July vacation I already had booked. I am also planning a long wknd to WDW in Sept. and I was planning to hopefully buy flights when SWA releases their next batch of flights on 3/12. That said we were supposed to go to WDW with my ILs, and I’m not sure whether they will feel comfortable going due to coronavirus. They recently canceled a cruise and probably should be a little more cautious due to being in their 70s. I assume this will all blow over by September, but idk. I would plan go to WDW without concerns with just my family of 5, but this was supposed to serve double duty as a trip to see the ILs... (they live in FL and I try to visit them once a year).

My company would have already cancelled my attendance as a guest, not speaker. They are not allowing attendance at any conferences with more than 100 people. Honestly, I think I'd cancel. You're probably going to end up meeting many of those 200 people during networking time.

The pp here thank you for commenting - company said it’s up to your comfort level but no more specific guidance. Yes there is a happy hour after ugh I feel so bad like do I look paranoid in comparison to everyone else?

I would not cancel. I would go to NJ.

What do people think about places like Great Wolf Lodge or the Hershey Lodge, mentioned earlier? Locations where there is plenty to do outside of the hotel, yet much of the appeal is the lodging itself. Do you think it's advisable to spend a bunch of time indoors dining, playing, swimming etc. with large groups of people of all ages, in close contact like that?

San Antonio this weekend?

We’re going there the week before Easter. We have until March 21 to cancel one of our hotels, so we will wait until then to decide. Planning on going at this point though.

I am still traveling routinely between DC and NYC. I am doubtful that NYC will ever be quarantined, healthcare is great, and you could easily hop in the car and drive the 4 hrs home.

This. Up here now, and Amtrak was much emptier but no issues.

Family works in Public Health Service infectious diseases and biochem on vaccines. They all think we have lost our minds in how this is being handled. They, by the way, are currently abroad and no more worried today than any other day. Wash your hands, get good sleep, eat right, stay home
if you have any symptoms and encourage your staff to telework if they have symptoms. Stay away from symptomatic people. Use Clorox wipes on surfaces.

If you think you are safer here in one of the most international cities on the planet than any other place, you have some research to do. Please speak to experts in public health. Do not listen to anyone (yes- this includes me) who you cannot verify as having scientific/medical credentials.

There are public health impacts to economic instability. Job insecurity and paycheck insecurity impacts immunity negatively.

Believe in science and listen to scientists.

I’d avoid.

These places are easy to re-book for later. Why risk it?
