The truth is sobering,

But that doesn't make right what Antwad did.

Is Grosso just a yes man for the Mayor? I heard him on the news this evening saying that even after all this he has confidence in the Chancellor and thinks he is a good person.
Grosso needs to exit the Education committee like yesterday.

So he is not getting fired?

Give it a few days. He isn't going to survive this.

He will. This is topic #1 for the dcum set. I don't think it animates the power center in D.C. the same. Nothing more is expected.

well the deputy mayor for education did just resign over this.

the mayor obviously likes the guy, and has deferred his fate to after the outcome of an investigation. I cannot see how he can survive this.

I just don't see how the DME takes the fall for this and the Chancellor skates. Makes no sense.

It's D.C. Makes sense now.

I’m guessing they ( Mayor, Chancellor etc.) will think come Tuesday it’ll be all over for the outcries.

How will he show his face in public.

I do think it was mean of the mayor to kick the girl out of Wilson immediately. That has to be traumatizing. The decent thing to do would be to let the girl stay at Wilson through the end of this school year at least. It isn't her fault that her parents are crooked morons who are gaming the system for their benefit while other parents and kids suffer with terrible schools.
I already did not like the Mayor and now I think even less of her. I cannot believe no one is running against her. She has absolutely no vision for improving the schools.
She basically thought she would pour some money into renovating buildings and the end result would be "Deal for All". Jenny Niles was obviously fine going along with this nonsense and deserved the boot.

She is his boss. She approved something that she probably should not have. Lets see what the investigation says. But if she was within the bounds of reasonable she would have stood up for herself and her decision.

It would be too embarrassing for Bowser for him to be fired so soon into his tenure. He can stick around as a lame duck for another school year and then slink away.

I can't imagine him speaking at any future public meetings without everyone just laughing at the emptiness of his words and making the jerk off motion.

I cannot believe DME takes the fall for this and not him. Excuse me but who asked to have his kid transferred? I'm thinking not her. Either Bowser's knew what was going on or she didn't which still makes her look bad because what does that say about Browser if her new chancellor went ahead and did this behind her back knowing full well it was wrong? He needs to go.

Love the letter "I realize this was wrong". Yeah. seriously. because you got caught! I'm just curious who blew the whistle on him?

Please. Won't someone decent run against Bowser?

Can we get an actual educator in the job and not just a hack with "education reform" cred?

I think the DCPS teachers and principals should be the ones to select the next Chancellor.

Lets take turns writing her press statement that fires him.

"Its saddens me deeply to accept Antwon's resignation today, he is an excellent person, but my broader commitment is to the school system and building confidence and trust for our clients. I, we, need to yet again draw a line under another incident the gives there impression that there are two sets of rules for DCPS families. I reiterate to you today , there is not. I do appreciate that all of you have faced the difficulties that Antwon faced. But lets make a commitment together to make those decision less difficult, to make all our school wonderful. Thank you for your ongoing support and confidence"

This fiasco needs to stop. DC schools have become a laughing stock. Not good for college acceptances either for our kids.
Didn't the Chancellor say with a straight face at the Ed council hearing that there is no need for an independent investigation of the central office? I think we need one now more than ever.
Who knows what skeletons are buried there? Unfortunately this Chancellor needs to go. He has lost all credibility at this point. This really reflects badly on the Mayor too.
I am ready to vote her out.

Guess he forgot to check his privilege!

Nah.

More like "he's resigning and moving back to California for the good of his family."
