No, as much as you want them to be. And they tried.

They tried in Alabama? Cite your source, please.

I love how you just rolled that goof. I mean when the Alabama SOS said he couldn't preserve the images, even though it's literally possible at the touch of a button, I had to wonder. But he just admitted they did!

Not really sure what you are talking about.

Anyways I would like to say Congratulations Alabama! your efforts have helped ensure that any damage done by Trump can be limited in the future.

Jones' election = Scott Brown election

two year term

not a sea change: bad candidate

Why are people calling this a two-year term? It’s three years. Jones is serving out the rest of Jeff Sessions’ term, and Sessions was elected in 2014. So Jones will be in office into January 2021.

He is articulate, reasonable and from the south which is what Democrats need if they want to win.

I like Doug Jones, but if the exit polls tell us anything, it's that Democrats need a candidate that black people can be energized by, but on a national scale. I don't think that is Doug Jones.

Why the heck not?

This. They’re positively giddy. What a low bar they had to clear.

What you two are missing is that not that the dem beat a bad candidate, but that as the GOP trends more toward the fringe, all they are left with are bad candidates. The GOP is racing to the bottom as fast as they can - trying as hard as ever to be racist, sexist, backwards party of old white men.

The leader of the republican party proudly endorsed Roy Moore. Recorded robo calls for him. Held rallys where he yelled, "Go out and vote for Roy Moore!"

No one is going to forget that any time soon. So yea, the molesting multiple sex offender energized the hell out of us.

-+1. It's at least 3 years. That's nothing to sneeze at. Every vote in the senate counts.

But all the white voters, including women (Jesus, women must really hate each other), voted for the Bible and gun obsessed child predator. As long as this red state plurality votes for good ole boys, the problem remains.

Delaware acquired an unexpected Democratic senator because the Republican that election was a pretty woman instead of an old guy. Still a dishonest loon, but easier to vote against.

If you haven't seen it, you might enjoy the Doug Jones Kick Six Parody video--even if you don't enjoy football.

I'm a Democrat, but I don't think Doug Jones would carry his state in a presidential race unless his opponent was Roy Moore.
