I know there are umpteen thousand threads on this forum on Roy Moore and Doug Jones, but as OP of the original Alabama Senate thread on this forum months before the pedophilia scandal made Doug Jones a household name, I would just like to say. Go Alabama! Take that all of you people who said Jones didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. May this mark the Democratic party's resurgence in the Deep South.

Maybe there is hope for this nation after all. |
May this be a message to Democrats that we need to compete EVERYWHERE. |
Hot damn!
Quote Maggie Hassan, Senator (D) New Hampshire |
And to the Democratic Party to take black votes and interests seriously.

Moderate , conservative democrat. That's the key for 2020. |
Next order of business: flip the racist gerrymandering of the House. |
Al.com website "Doug Jones wins" It's official now. |
Hallelujah!!!! |
Thank you Alabama!
-Doug Jones |
And the blame of Steve Bannon begins.
Senate Leadership Fund CEO Steven Law: “This is a brutal reminder that candidate quality matters regardless of where you are running. Not only did Steve Bannon cost us a critical Senate seat in one of the most Republican states in the country, but he also dragged the President of the United States into his fiasco.” "Suck it Bannon." Megan McCain. |
You better believe it! It was black voters who came out enough masse. More than Obama's robocall, it was Moore and his slavery remarks that pissed off a whole lot of black folks! I think Alabama is going to get a pleasant surprise at their new found respect. |
Trump will have to ignore this humiliating defeat. Not expecting any tweets tomorrow. |
PP here. That's 'en masse.' Hate autocorrect. |
Slight buzzkill: Mitch MFer McConnell announced before tonight that whoever wins will not be sworn in until the next session. So Luther Strange’s lame duck @ss can still cast a deciding vote on the tax bill. |
