W parents don’t envy Blair parents. I mean seriously? You need have your head checked. And, no, I am not a W parent. My kid is in magnet. I just think that’s a silly thing to say.

Except when they do in every other post.

I honestly don't think there are any Whitman or BCC parents on this board. We were considering moving out of DC for middle school so came on, all I hear about is DCC (?) and schools way up Interstate 270 and a couple magnet school outside of the beltway several miles.

I guess that's what you get when you're a 220 school county-run public school district: a ton of different factions and a bunch of weirdos on an anonymous chat board pretending to know something about the other 219 schools they aren't even near.

You must be joking, right? This forum was /is dominated by Whitman and the W parents, bashing every other school. Why do you think Jeff made a separate PG schools forum? Because of the insufferable W parents. Lately though, parents from others part of the county have been pushing back.

You are misinformed.

Blair
Magnet is excellent, dedicated teachers for STEM
The non magnet teachers are also very good. Was a pleasant surprise.
Blair had the most semifinalists for national merit this year
Strong extracurriculars with lots of club activities as well as sports
Teachers are very approachable to students and to parents as well if there was a real concern.
All in all great school! Way more superior than the W schools.

hahaha, just keep telling yourself that.

PG county? where's that? Is that part of MoCo or MCPS? I thought it was a whole different county and school district entirely.... They

You’re too clueless. Learn about DCUM history before embarrassing yourself.

say what you will but every single parent at the W's could have sent their children to Blair if they wanted. Every one of them chose not to, if people really thought it was superior they would vote with their feet.

Yours is a case of sour grapes and trying to convince yourself

DP... are you saying every single student at Churchill could've qualified for the magnet? That would be a no.

Or are you saying they would've chosen to live in the Blair cluster if they thought the school was great? Here's the thing.. even if the school is really great, there are people who don't want to live near poor/black/brown people, and certainly don't want their kids to mix with them. I recall a few years ago a W mom complaining about the possibility of having her DD go to a poorer school if they were bussed because her DD would not have a great prom at a school with lots of low income families who couldn't afford a nicer prom. Plus, some people prefer the bigger lots and larger homes in the W clusters to the smaller ones in SS. Also, see a PP who didn't like RM because there were too many Twinbrook kids, ie, poor brown kids, but was fine with QO even though they have about the same number of FARMs/Hispanic/Black students, but QO had more white students.

NOW THERE IS AN EMBARRASSING STATEMENT to reveal about YOURSELF.

But, yes PP, PG county is not party of Montgomery County nor its school system.

The moment a W parent realizes they overpaid for a house zoned for a second rate school they come to DCUM and bash Blair to help make up for their poor life choices.

"Best sports" Ha ha ha.
1+ Churchill had the worst dance team I've ever seen. I guess with all that money, the parents of those students couldn't buy them talent.
Same goes to Whitman's dance team.

Look up and to the left on your screen.

Does it say

Forum Index » MCPS Public Schools

I think probably not. The point is that MD and VA both have public school forums, and Virginia's is a mix of APS, FCPS, etc.

But for Maryland, Jeff had to separate out PG County because classist racist white folks kept derailing threads about PGPS with their vitriol.

? RM and QO have about the same number of FARMS - actually RM has slightly lower, but QO doesn't have too many "undesirables" like RM does? LOL.. okaaay..

RM only has 30% white kids and QO has 45%. That's why, PP. Just being honest how it is. People still think the higher the number of white kids, the better the school.

ah.. that explains it, then because the number of Hispanic and Black students as a % of the school population is pretty similar between the two schools; same for % of ESOL and FARMs.

Really, the two schools have similar demographic statistics. The only real difference is the number of Asian American students between QO and RM - RM has more. QO is more white students as a % of total population.

QO is a much better school.
