I think some W parents are jealous that their kids couldn't make into Blair magnet. Most parents would not discourage their super smart kids from going to Blair magnet.

I don't live in a W or Blair cluster.

I honestly don't think there are any Whitman or BCC parents on this board. We were considering moving out of DC for middle school so came on, all I hear about is DCC (?) and schools way up Interstate 270 and a couple magnet school outside of the beltway several miles.

I guess that's what you get when you're a 220 school county-run public school district: a ton of different factions and a bunch of weirdos on an anonymous chat board pretending to know something about the other 219 schools they aren't even near.

You don’t really believe that do you? Without magnets, Blair is one of the worst schools in MCPS, if not the worst. Maybe you are talking about the magnet program.

You must be joking, right? This forum was /is dominated by Whitman and the W parents, bashing every other school. Why do you think Jeff made a separate PG schools forum? Because of the insufferable W parents. Lately though, parents from others part of the county have been pushing back.

ah.. that explains it, then because the number of Hispanic and Black students as a % of the school population is pretty similar between the two schools; same for % of ESOL and FARMs.

Really, the two schools have similar demographic statistics. The only real difference is the number of Asian American students between QO and RM - RM has more. QO is more white students as a % of total population.
