Why do people defend illegal immigration? (Serious question)

Cut off welfare; tell them to move to the farmlands to replace all the illegal immigrants who will be deported. You can get paid around $10/hr.

Or, at least make them contribute to society while on welfare by cleaning up their towns - mow the lawn/rake leaves in public places, pickup trash, wash windows, remove graffitti. Contribute in some way to society.

They did this in a New England for childless welfare recipients, and lo and behold, it reduced the amount of people on welfare.

Theoretically, I don't support illegal immigration, but I sure like having cheap and hardworking cleaning staff, landscapers, and handymen. Most of the Americans (especially black) I've hired to do the menial labor the illegals have taken over are expensive and lazy. The quality of their work is terrible too. Until Americans start becoming truly competitive with these people, you can bet individuals and corporations will secretly support illegal immigration.

It's not just illegals, people need to look up the cost of these third world refugees too. $20k+ each to move them here, they're all unfit for any skilled jobs, kids ruin any school system you put them in.

Enough. We need to tamp down immigration for 10-20 years.

I have worked hard at my upper class existence. Educated at great schools. got my masters and now working in a good job paying my own way. Everyone should take advantage of college and grants and family friends to find jobs . Anyone that doesn't is lazy

And I will not force myself to believe in folklore like supply and demand theories. Increasing the supply of workers has no impact on wages Adding 40 million unskilled workers does not affect existing low skilled workers . Anding 2 million green cards a year has absolutely no negative impact on existing citizens . Adding millions of high skilled workers has no impact on college graduates

The reason these workers can't find jobs is they are lazy

I demand that my organic strawberries are dirt cheap so that my children will not be subject to pesticides

Any serious study you look at, immigrants pay more than they pay back.

Try this thought experiment: do you think the immigrant who gave a fake SS number and has been paying payroll and income taxes for 2 dexades, is going to be able to collect a pension from SS?

Same with most other benefits.
