Gabriella Giffords Assasinated...

agree completely, which is why I don't understand the left's obsession with Palin. If she somehow landed the nomination in 2012, Obama would win in a landslide. Her floor is fairly high, but her ceiling is way, way too low.

I don't see how she can call the attack "apolitical", when the web is full of his rants against the government. And more than half of his favorite books are political. His home page had a picture of a history book with a gun on it front and center. He called himself an assassin.

So did she really nail it? Or is she trying to reshape the facts?

Think about it; for us liberals to criticize one aspect of her speech is reason for her to criticize us as having libeled her, but her criticism of us is defense of liberty? Does she not see that she is doing exactly what she is criticizing others for? I called her magnificent because she is the first who has managed to use this situation to make a beautifully rehearsed campaign video for 2012. What magnificent effrontery!

Like her or not, she looks and sounds great in front of a camera!

Yes, she would make a great small market TV reporter.

Small market? Hardly! She's got far more appeal than that and can connect with most people. You need to get out beyond your elite, Ivy League, $25,000+ salary world. Again, not saying I like her, but she's a salesperson like Bill Clinton.

Laughing at my typo--$250,000+ salary world

See, that elite ivy thing makes you look bad. You don't know me.

Lots of people are good at sales. That doesn't qualify them for the job of President.

I would have said "large market", but she can't handle interviews that are not conducted by friendlies, and she can't get all of the words right in a pre-taped address. So how could she handle a big TV job?

Sorry--didn't really mean YOUR elite world--just the world of the DC area, etc.--as in small to mid size cities across the USA--thinking of the most recent election results.

Well I grew up in the midwest and my inlaws have a family farm, so I'm not sure what "world" I am supposed to get beyond.

Ha Ha! Well, yep, I'd say you can relate to what I meant. I have quite a few relatives in the Boston and DC areas, and many of them are so well-educated and intellectual (not necessarily wealthy) that I don't think they "get" Palin's popularity in many places.

So is she now admitting those were crosshairs?

OK, so my midwestern Catholic self still thinks she would make a good small market TV reporter. If she could handle unscripted events and tough questions in a live environment, she might be a good large market reporter. But she's not qualified to run a country.

Sarah Palin kills Gentile babies and uses their blood to make matzos. There, now she has been blood libeled.
