Think about it; for us liberals to criticize one aspect of her speech is reason for her to criticize us as having libeled her, but her criticism of us is defense of liberty? Does she not see that she is doing exactly what she is criticizing others for? I called her magnificent because she is the first who has managed to use this situation to make a beautifully rehearsed campaign video for 2012. What magnificent effrontery!

Like her or not, she looks and sounds great in front of a camera!

Like I said, she is magnificent!

I don't hate her as some of you do, but I'm no fan either. From the beginning, I found her "You betcha!" types of remarks immensely irritating and her comments lacking in substance. But I'll give her high marks for attractiveness, personality, voice control, and the ability to use facial expressions very effectively--it's a combination that's hard to "bottle" and very appealing on camera and the stage.

I'll add that I think she's the female version of Bill Clinton's personality (not making a comparison of intelligence, viewpoints, etc.--just personality).

Yes, she would make a great small market TV reporter.

Like when they went after Bill Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky affair, they actually had to choose which adulterer would lead the charge.

I love how she couldn't say "pundits" ("pundints") and had to pause to get "purport" correct.

But I think the scary thing is that she is defending the tone of politics today by comparing it to dueling during the days of the founding fathers. She expressed not one iota of concern for the things that are wrong today in political discourse.

If a politician does not recognize that something is wrong with the current tone of politics, they are certainly part of the problem.

Since she is quoting Ronald Reagan, she should take pointers from his political rhetoric. While I did not agree with all of his beliefs, no one would accuse him of the tactics used by Palin and her friends in politics.

She has to defend the tone, that all she's got.

Small market? Hardly! She's got far more appeal than that and can connect with most people. You need to get out beyond your elite, Ivy League, $25,000+ salary world. Again, not saying I like her, but she's a salesperson like Bill Clinton.

See, that elite ivy thing makes you look bad. You don't know me.

Lots of people are good at sales. That doesn't qualify them for the job of President.

I would have said "large market", but she can't handle interviews that are not conducted by friendlies, and she can't get all of the words right in a pre-taped address. So how could she handle a big TV job?

Genius. "Blood Libel" in 2 words shuts down liberal morons. I'm gonna start using that term.

Sorry--didn't really mean YOUR elite world--just the world of the DC area, etc.--as in small to mid size cities across the USA--thinking of the most recent election results.

Btw, I don't think she'd make a good president and don't think she'll ever get the Republican nomination.

I am neutral on Palin. Don't think she is qualified to be president (but of course neither was Obama), so would never vote for her; however, have to say this speech nails it. Doubt she wrote it, but very effective and very accurate.

Well I grew up in the midwest and my inlaws have a family farm, so I'm not sure what "world" I am supposed to get beyond.

Think harder about the most recent elections. Palin-backed Senate candidates cost the Republicans Deleware, Nevada, and Colorado, and lost to a write-in in her home state. Palin was the Democrats best campaigner and probably saved the Senate for them n
