multiple people spoke both from langston and AT. not one. you'd know that if you would bother to go listen yourself. but you prefer just to troll.

I think it’s important to noteneither of the people who spoke in favor of moving langston are currently affiliated with the program. One was a former student and the other was on the building committee (?) that opened the school and is a neighborhood liaison, which doesn’t make a ton of sense to me because Langston is not a neighborhood school. It serves the entire county. She said she was speaking on behalf of staff, but it wasn’t clear how many or who.

this sounds like you trying to justify your continued opposition. i remember when AT said we won't opposed if Langston wants to come and now you still are trying to do just that.

Well, are they actually speaking as Langston or as people with former affiliation? That’s relevant.

So now you're trying to insult my kid in your effort to deflect from Arlington Tech's ugly opposition to keeping out "those kids" from Langston. Trying to hoard opportunity and not share the nice new building. Not nice, AT, not nice. And we can all see it.

DP. I think there is confusion. There are two different groups of kids at Langston (very nice building btw). The vulnerable ones are about 100 kids. I don’t know how many of them want to move or not, but a handful of moms (and a teacher?) posted on Fb that they do not want to move into a big building or be integrated into a bigger setting/program, because many kids have had bad experiences, and the whole reason this program exists was to move them OUT of these environments and influences. I don’t think anyone would oppose having them? The criminal kids otoh, about a dozen, only moved into that location in 2022, and they merged with the vulnerable kids in 2024. Per APS they all have convictions for serious crimes (drugs, gangs, assault), and they had 2:1 staff before the merge. Now APS wants to move them all again - it’s all part of a big consolidation plan they have. I think you cannot fault any parent who does not want “those kids” anywhere near. Why did APS merge them with a vulnerable group? How has that been going? Why are they not concerned about moving that population into a large mainstream setting? Only APS knows, and it doesn’t seem like they want to share that information.
