Fake news. Someone has an agenda.

Current GFR ppl seem to know the coaching slate and tryout dates. Probably released soon. It’s been communicated to some parents.

What age group has heard something? I have friends with kids in almost every age group U11-U19 and no one has heard a thing since the meeting on 4/23 was announced but that didn't give any clarity into who is running the club in the meantime.

So you’re not a GFR parent? Your friends are? Ask them.

I am a GFR parent, I have also not heard anything. I asked my friends. Nothing. That's why I asked who HAS heard something? It's nothing public.

Talk to your current coach. That's what I did and he was happy to fill me in...

Ours knows nothing either

The 2010 RL team is a combination of players from GFR, FC Dulles and NVU. From what I heard, RS was planning to coach that team next year before he was let go.

RS was an arrogant and deceitful person. It is surprising that he has held this position for so long. You can be certain that NM will soon set up his new club in the DMV region and will recruit players from GFSFC, McLean, and Herndon. All these executive directors are being revealed. Waxler and Sheldon, who will be next????

The 08 girls are the worst RL team in the club, they probably aren’t/can’t go anywhere

09s and 11s will likely stay with Gus, some DMV 12s are leaving, not sure about the 12 RL team. They’ve had a new coach every year so they are used to the revolving door.

13/14/15’s are unhappy. They were all going to be under the leadership of NM and now their coach is HM.

Think a few 11s are testing the GA waters at McLean/Alexandria

There are a few players on the 09 team who are good enough to play at a higher level and, if they are serious about pursuing opportunities to play in college, they would be better served by moving to an ECNL or GA1 team at a larger club for better showcasing. GFR won't be able to offer that (certainly not at the same level). No club can wave a magic wand and get a kid onto a college roster but it's better to have more "support" than less and there are clubs in the area with staff who do a good job of providing that.
