You and your obsession with burning Teslas. No burning Teslas at any protest I saw today. No Teslas at all. The destruction of Tesla is all on Elon and he seems to be able to destroy his company all on his own. Today was a lot of peaceful angry protesters that have lost a lot, like we all have and gained absolutely nothing in return. What a waste of an administration. |
I'm guessing lots of minorities, especially Blacks, are sick of white people and their nonsense. Black women came out in big numbers the last election and it wasn't enough. |
Another yawnfest from the left. |
It's all combined. People of conscience of various issues are out there on the mall. Supporting federal workers, women's rights, LGBT rights, Ukraine, and Palestinians. You can't exactly be pro-Israel and pro justice. |
Which matters why? |
Most Black people mentally checked out after the election. You have to remember 92 percent of Black women and 80 percent of Black men didn’t vote for this. I don’t think it’s that Black people and potentially other minority groups (I won’t speak for other groups, I’m just assuming) don’t care, we are just trying to keep our heads low and take care of ourselves and our families. |
I attended one today and turnout was good. I don't really get the point of the protest tbh. Mostly older white liberals, with a few people of color sprinkled in like me and my child. Can anyone "explain like I'm 5" how protests actually affect change in this situation? |
+1 why would I try to save people who don’t want to be saved? Did you forget that during Trump 1 he asked about shooting protesters to his defense secretary? Why would I put my safety on the line for a country who knew who he was and didn’t care. Save yourselves. |
If we don't protest we're blamed for being complacent. If we do protest we're blamed for being bougie. Probably POC don't want to draw attention to themselves these days. |
It's on a Sat |
There is some statistic that when at least 3.5% of the population protests, that eventually leads to changes. |
This morning I was driving down Wisconsin Av in Chevy Chase and a group (about 10) crossed in front of me heading to the metro. There was only 1 man with this group and the average age was 70, all holding signs. What a great advertisement for the Democrat party! |
I can appreciate the gesture of protesting but the problem is that the government doesn’t care in the slightest. The tariffs are overwhelming unpopular, even the people I know who voted for him are hesitant about it. The government doesn’t care! |
But apparently black men didn't go to vote. And few voted for an Orange. GOTV. |
