You didn't use enough question marks. |
The insinuation in this statement is that those offered admission are undeserving. What is “merit?” It’s like you think admission to your preferred school is a reward for academic achievement. |
What evidence do you have to support this? Are you one of these conspiracy theorists who think they have quotas or caps? |
I don't know about the others but I have seen in our HS Naviance that UVA admits about 50 students every year regardless of the number of applicants. So, no matter what they say, yes, they seem to have a quota. Which is fine IMO. 50 from one HS seems reasonable, they need to admit students from the whole state. |
Sure it is |

These schools are some of the greatest things Virginia has to offer!
Whatever they're doing KEEP IT UP! Academic ranking 1.) UVA 2.) VT 3.) W&M William & Mary seems to be slipping!! |
Slipping how? |
Anyone who signs into DCUM needs to be placed on a no fly list |
UVA: 1470 (59%) W&M: 1470 (59%) Virginia Tech: 1360 (49%) |
+100000 |
US News for one. That's the ranking now. They're not great with technology compared to UVA and VT and that is going to hurt them going forward. |
W&M is also renovating the whole campus and expanding because it grew some 500 students over the past few years. What do you mean slipping? |
Yeah I think it's had one of the greatest percentage growths of all the publics since 2020. Now at over 7k undergraduates, and 10k total population. It will also be becoming R1 next fall which will bring more graduate students and research opportunities. |
LOL!! Inside jokes from old nerds crack me up! |
They just opened a new school for computing and data science which is going to be housed in one of the brand new buildings opening next fall. US News changed its methodology which is why Tulane, Wake Forest, Northeastern all fell in the rankings. Google this. BTW, 65% of students major in STEM and their CS department rises in US News's departmental ranking every year. |
