Trump today and MAGA still claiming Harris never worked at McDonald’s

Anonymous
I'm the same age as Kamala - also a lawyer - and I worked a fast-food job with Jack-in-the-Box the summer of 1982. Just for fun, I called their corporate HQ and they laughed when I asked if they had any record of my employment (the restaurant I worked at was torn down long ago).

People voting for Trump thinks it's great what he did and people not voting for him think he's a clown. It changed no minds.

can you say why? A serious question because it’s not clear to me why people see this as a great stunt.

Maybe I would feel differently if he’d put in an actual shift, with real customers. But nothing about this was working. Surely anyone who has ever held a job like this can see that.

Just because a kid wears a hat that says “principal for a day” and makes a few announcements over the PA system doesn’t actually mean she’s in charge of the school.

I just genuinely don’t get this one and am trying to understand what people are seeing and celebrating here.

Honestly, it’s not such a great “stunt”. The whole McDonald’s thing about Harris is weird and irrelevant.

This is a distraction from the epic meltdown Trump had this past week starting with his dance party and culminating in his public admiration for Palmer’s junk at a rally.

MAGA just wants to change the subject and try to reset the narrative for the last push. But it’s not like Donnie actually spoke with any voters. And it’s condescending to working class people.

Anyone else think this was a bizarre call of mcdonalds?
As a democrat it put me off to have them be complicit in trolling harris. We sometimes get fast food after the kids have a soccer tournament and yesterday i was a hard no on mcds. f them.

Eh, who really cares? Trump's visit to McDonald's is nothing that will change the complexion of the race and let's face it, McDonald's has the most consistently fast drive thrus in the DC Metro area. I am not voting for another 80 year old president and I will not be boycotting McDonalds.

Pathetic. A child playing in his pretend play kitchen.

He’s such a sucker. So easy to bait.

Why do you think Putin, Orban and Kim can play him like a fiddle? All you have to do is appeal to his vanity.

Not PP but I'll answer:

-- Hyper viral with billions of total views across social media, articles, and TV news. Half of which are seething libs boosting it because they're jealous of how brilliant the stunt was.

-- All-time 10/10 campaign optics. It's hilarious. It's endearing. The still photos look like A.I. they're so perfect.

-- Kicker for good measure: Tars Harris as an elitist phony liar who has probably never eaten McDonald's, let alone worked at a McDonald's.

Dang it, if they don't tell us which McDonald's she worked at 40 years ago, I'm going to vote for the 80 year old guy!!! Genius!

It does speak to her credibility. She has a tendency to make things up and shift according to the audience. This worked for her as a less prominent politician. This will not work as the most visible politician in the world. She cannot go around spinning yards and speaking in accents. It's undignified.

Yea, she's a weak presidential candidate but she's still the obvious choice over Trump. Just imagine how frustrated the normal GOP people must be seeing that their party could have had a very easy victory in 2024 had they nominated a Romney or McCain. Can't fix stupid.

How can they nominate a guy who died in 2018

I worked at McDonalds forty years ago, about the time Harris did. I guarantee you that no franchisee has employment records going back that far, let alone corporate.

Kamala pathologically lied about a McDonald’s job in college to appeal to her base. Think about it.

You have no proof she is lying. Why is this such a hot topic for the MAGAs?

I can answer that, to deflect from Trump's sundowning, to deflect from the horrible GOP policies. You are not swaying Harris supporters or Independents, but you are keeping the truth about the GOP and Trump fro Trump voters.

McDonald’s has no record of her employment. She can easily shut down all the lying rumors by showing us any tax records from her time in employment, or letting reporters know the name of her manager or coworkers etc. Given her history of her blatant plagiarism, her own words can’t be used as evidence.

1. Of course they don't! It was 40 years ago when there were paper records which would be well beyond the time they would keep them in a storage facility, they would have been long discarded to make room for other records. It is insane and defies basic logic to think McDonalds would have records that old in a warehouse somewhere.

2. Nobody has their paper tax records from their college job 40 years ago. I don't. My husband doesn't. Expecting this is more Insanity.

3. Do you apply this scrutiny to the lies that fly out if Trump's mouth every time the wind blows?

Please focus. Trump has nothing to do with zero proof existing of the most famous woman in the world working at a McDonald's in California during her second year of college in the 1980s. A gorgeous and articulate 19 or 20 year old young lady from Howard University, by way of Montreal, with a very unique name, flipping beef burgers -- literally nobody remembers her? Not even an attention-seeking franchise owner?

"Harris has recalled working at a McDonald's that her campaign has identified as the location on Central Avenue in Alameda, Calif., 41 years ago, in the summer of 1983 when she would have been a rising sophomore at Howard University. Asked repeatedly by Newsweek for more details, the campaign has not responded."

No photos of you in your uniform? If you become one of the most famous people in the world, would literally zero former co-workers, former managers, and former franchise owner remember you or be unable to verify your claims? None of your local friends would step forward to verify it?

It was the 1980s, not 1910.
