Trump today and MAGA still claiming Harris never worked at McDonald’s

Here ya go, PP.

From the NYT:

But The New York Times interviewed a friend who had known Ms. Harris as a teenager and remained in touch with the family for years afterward. Wanda Kagan, a close friend of Ms. Harris’s when they attended high school together in Montreal, said she recalled Ms. Harris having worked at McDonald’s around that time.

Answering questions by email, Ms. Kagan said that Ms. Harris’s mother, who died in 2009, had told Ms. Kagan about the summer job years ago. Ms. Kagan said she herself had also worked at one of the fast-food chain’s many franchises in those years.”

Grey Lady’s only “evidence” of college-aged Kamala’s alleged job at McDonald’s in the 80s is a single friend who lived in Canada…who allegedly heard about it from…Kamala’s dead mom? Sounds legit.

Almost as legit as an intellectual Hindu Brahmin PhD letting her daughter move to one of the most dangerous sections of DC in the 80s to be a servant class burger flipper for $3 an hour.

Hahahahahahahaha

so last night the argument was that she must have one person who could remember her working that job. And it was pointed out that MAGA would move the goalposts and say that is not enough. Ad predicted you did exactly that.

And then you tied it with some prejudiced crap. For the record, several Hindu friends with high education who would think it is great for their kid to earn some money while getting their degree. Just stop.

Thanks, PP. I'm the PP who posted the quote from the NYT article in response to the bolded: "That said, I’d be able to dredge up some old coworkers/managers etc who remembered me if I had resources and tried hard enough and cared enough to do so (I’m 47). Or even an old photo? Or friends vouching for her?" I linked to an example of a friend vouching for Harris and, as you pointed out, it was immediately attacked. You are correct. MAGA always moves the goalposts and here is one example in real time. They have their talking points and "gotchas" and they are going to defend them no matter what. Because the point is always to trigger the libs.

The phony third-hand account from the Canadian non-friend via email makes it all the more obvious it’s lie. Dead mom allegedly told her. So it wasn’t a McDonald’s in Canada.

We are to believe Kamala transferred to prestigious and private Howard University, arrived during the 80s crime wave, and said to herself I’m gonna go serve beef burgers, deep fry fries in beef tallow, & clean toilets for $3 an hour.

Her Brahmin Hindu mom is going to brag about this.

She is never putting said job on her resume.

And nobody at the McDonald’s remembers a drop dead gorgeous Howard student from Canada with a weird name. Said student is now the most famous woman in the world. And yet, no co workers, no manager, no franchise owner has come forward. And McDonald’s corporate has to confess they have zero evidence she ever worked there.

And for good measure, no Howard classmates can verify this either.

Someone here keeps on emphasizing this like its a 'gotcha' and I have to say you are hilarious. My Hindu-vegetarian Brahmin intellectual family had no problem running several restaurants and fast food places, with their kids serving all kinds of meat and alcohol as part of their jobs. Their kids worked their asses off while going to university and pursuing advanced degrees that supported their careers. There's nothing to brag about or not here - we just did what we had to do, just like any recent immigrant group in the late 70s/80s/90s.

You seem to think this means he was safe and didnt regularly experience rocket and mortar attacks, and didn't face IEDs every time he left the base. I'm not sure why you'd minimize someone's wartime service, but you are dead wrong that he had a cush job.

Show us credible evidence that he personally, directly and regularly experienced rockets and mortars and IEDs detonating in his immediate proximity.
We'll wait.

Except Trump didn't work at a McDonalds. He went to a McDonalds that was closed for business during his visit, where he did some cosplay and play-acted working, with actors pretending to be customers.

It's comical that you claim (without evidence) that Kamala Harris lied about working at a McDonalds, yet here we now have proof that Trump claims to have now worked at a McDonalds except it's a lie and he only pretended to work at one, given it was closed for business and only had fake customers. Seems like a backfire to any thinking person.

Companies typically only keep employment records for 3 years and people are expecting McDonalds to have records from 40 years ago?

Or have saved their own paper tax records that old?!?!

Hahahahahaha

So when Trump shut down that McDonald's restaurant for his photo op / play date, did the franchise owner also revoke his employees' hours and wages for the day?

Did Trump's childish stunt create underemployment?

Meanwhile Vance spread racist lies about Haitians eating cats/dogs. But that was ok?

If anything, unless it is reported, it is a federal election donation that needs to be reported.

What is worse - lying about working at McDonalds or lying about government controlled of healthcare?

He’s such a sucker. So easy to bait.

can you say why? A serious question because it’s not clear to me why people see this as a great stunt.

Maybe I would feel differently if he’d put in an actual shift, with real customers. But nothing about this was working. Surely anyone who has ever held a job like this can see that.

Just because a kid wears a hat that says “principal for a day” and makes a few announcements over the PA system doesn’t actually mean she’s in charge of the school.

I just genuinely don’t get this one and am trying to understand what people are seeing and celebrating here.

Harris fumbled this one, shes in a tough spot right now, does she try to connect with the working folks by doing a visit to a fast-food restaurant or risk doing it and being called out by trump? This was a brilliant move by trump and the polls are showing Pennsylvania is moving in his direct and he's ahead now. Time will tell if this moves it over further.

I mean....she did. Raised by a single mom and I don't get the vibes that her dad was paying a ton in child support. Her mom worked in medical research for public institutions. Sure, it's a stable life but everyone knows it is the worst paying part of the medical field. An RN will typically make more money than PhD-holding medical researchers.

Kamala pathologically lied about a McDonald’s job in college to appeal to her base. Think about it.

You have no proof she is lying. Why is this such a hot topic for the MAGAs?

I can answer that, to deflect from Trump's sundowning, to deflect from the horrible GOP policies. You are not swaying Harris supporters or Independents, but you are keeping the truth about the GOP and Trump fro Trump voters.

McDonald’s has no record of her employment. She can easily shut down all the lying rumors by showing us any tax records from her time in employment, or letting reporters know the name of her manager or coworkers etc. Given her history of her blatant plagiarism, her own words can’t be used as evidence.

1. Of course they don't! It was 40 years ago when there were paper records which would be well beyond the time they would keep them in a storage facility, they would have been long discarded to make room for other records. It is insane and defies basic logic to think McDonalds would have records that old in a warehouse somewhere.

2. Nobody has their paper tax records from their college job 40 years ago. I don't. My husband doesn't. Expecting this is more Insanity.

3. Do you apply this scrutiny to the lies that fly out if Trump's mouth every time the wind blows?

Right? They must be livid that he hasn’t shown his college transcripts, tax history, and medical records! Oh…
