SNL Saturday Night Live

Ashley Padillla is picking up the Heidi Garynrr roles as girlfriend/mom/basic white girl. I feel like they really gave Heidi absolute crap for many years — like she had to be the irritating mom/girlfriend/basic white girl as the foil for the funny lines. I hope that Ashley can avoid that box. It go so that every time I saw Heidi in a skit. I was cringing in advance. It felt like she exclusively had men writing for her and she don’t write much herself? Whereas with Tina, Amy, Andy, Cecile and Ego, you generally got a strong female viewpoint and it didn’t feel like such a one note joke.
I think Ego is the biggest loss this season. That’s also putting more pressure on Ashley — they just don’t have any other women with real versatility.

It was okay.

It was only ok or less. Finn a little too exited about Stranger Things and that trio too from ST. We get it, show was a hit but they just can't get over themselves. Plus the opening wasn't as exciting as it would have been if it was about the NPPrize as am above poster predicted. Jost as Hegseth good but not superb. And who was that Vance actor if only he were a little taller

I didn’t know who the host Finn was, but apparently everyone else did!

The show was funny as usual - - especially Weekend Update.
Marcello is now definitely the true star 🌟 of the show.
I miss Bowen Yang a lot, but am glad that both Kenan ➕ Mikey Day have stayed on.
Even Jane Wickline is slowly growing on me………….

Did anyone on here read that Chris Redd is claiming that he used to give out drugs to the other cast members ?

I actually laughed at Nepo Baby.

How was it? The opening was scary

Cold open was okay. I wish they would have included some of the nonsense Trump actually said last week at Davos and at his unhinged press conference on Tuesday (where he said he mother told him he was good enough to play professional baseball).

I’m only through the first few sketches, but they aren’t great (delayed flight, movie related action figures, resume workshop).

The news segment started out okay, but they introduced a new “on blast” segment that is a bad rip-off of David Spade’s bit. It was really bad.

Trump's actual words don't even require re-writing.

Agree that was bad. Spade was good because he really was on blast.
I liked the Gen Z translation thing though. We live that in my household.
I thought last week was funnier — the snack homieZ podcast is really funny.

I don’t know what they are doing with Ashley Padilla — her stuff is so unfunny, and it’s not the delivery, it’s the writing. Like they just come up with some lazy awkward cringe stuff and throw her in to try to carry it. The cold open of the Trump awards was great, as was the ways to break up with your girlfriend thing.

Last Saturday’s episode was funny……

Marcello will always be a true comedic talent and he just gets better (and better!) as time goes on.
I love his Weekend Update sketches the best.

I still miss the hugely talented Bowen Yang as well as past great comics Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Heidi Gardner (now on Broadway though) and of course the hugely talented and funny Pete Davidson too.

Ashley Padilla is a great standout this season!

I see Bowen and Marcello having great careers in their future.
SNL can be a great springboard
