AP Euro History wasn't too bad, I've been told (previously, 5 on AP World History and APUSH). |
Was APUSH ridiculously easy for your kid? My son said it felt like a joke. His only worry now is that it will take close to a perfect score for a 5 and he's not sure he got everything correct. |
I just posted about Euro ... yes, APUSH was reported "easy" last year by the same kid. However, I've read around on the topic and noticed that others report APUSH as one of there harder AP tests due to the sheer volume of information. So I'm not really sure. That said, I think the floor for a score of "5" is far below 100%, closer to 80%. Your son should be good to go if he felt that confident exiting the test. |
Kid took AP Spanish Lit today after AP Euro. Wiped out after 8 hours of testing. He thinks he did well, though. Only 2 students took that exam. |
AP S Lit is way hard-are they a native speaker?, kid taking 3rd AP next week AP Span Lang and then done for the year |
No, but planning to major in Spanish at an Ivy in the fall. He thought it was thought but doable. He is taking AP Span Lang next week too for a total of 5 exams this year. |
Well then I guess he didn’t do well at all. We’ll all survive. I expect Calc BC will go much better on Monday. |
A 5 is normally around 76% not 80% on the test. |
I just looked at the weighting of each component of APUSH exam. Nowhere does it say the essay portion is 60% of the exam. From Princeton Review: Multiple choice: 40% 3 short answer: 20% DBQ: 25% Long essay: 15% 70-80% correct questions earn you a 5 |
DS mentioned app for AP Euro seemed glitchy. |
My Sophomore thought AP Euro was easy today. Senior had had no problem so far. He has all 5s to date on prior APs. Took English lig and 2 of the AP govt this week- more next week |

But its correct that 40% is multiple choice and 60% is written answers. Thank you for the breakdown |
My kid thought the same and got a 5 last year. |
76 - 80%? |
