Wow 100% in her tests?! My kid said it was hard too. Not confident that he passed. He had far from a 100% in his class tests ![]() |
I'm a pp from above and just wanted to add that for some universities, the ap credit can even be detrimental.
Was reading on reddit recently - and I won't name the school b/c I haven't researched whether this is true or not - but some kids at a certain school were saying that their ap credits were not useful in either placing them out of classes nor in getting priority registration. They also found that in receiving credits "toward graduation" they were placed in a higher class category and therefore reached the junior year upper tuition much earlier than they'd anticipated. Some kids, who caught onto this early enough, were able to clear the unneeded credits from their transcript so they wouldn't have the inflated tuition for longer than necessary. Be careful out there! |
DD said AP Bio was very hard. Her teacher had them do a mock exam and with that test, she would have had a 5. She thinks she will get a 1 in this. |
All AP tests are offered at the same time in their slot. The schools sometimes run a few minutes late, but the kids are already "in the bubble." Otherwise, schools don't choose. https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/exam-administration-ordering-scores/exam-dates |
Hmmm. My DS said he thought AP Bio went well, and he expects to get a 4 or 5. But he only has a B+ in his HS class. I think the teacher probably prepared them very well. |
My DD is the same. She said that some units had ZERO questions on them - including the entirety of the 8th unit. Nothing on photosynthesis. Difficult FRQs |
There are well prepared kids and there are unusually difficult tests. They are not mutually exclusive. |
Your school enters AP scores on the transcript? |
My kid said it was hard too. |
+1 My son said the same thing is also has a B+ in the class. |
All the smart girls with good grades found it hard and these two bozos thought it was easy. Interesting... |
There were 2 versions of the AP bio test. Those who got the harder one were unlucky. |
PP here: He didn't say it was easy, but he felt prepared for the test after receiving class instruction and studying on his own using Khan Academy and Bozeman Science videos. |
DP Some high schools do. |
But they equate the scores and adjust the cut scores for a 2, 3, 4, or 5. |
