Quick poll on Pride and Prejudice

His Mr Darcy is a romance novel come to life and his longing for Miss Elizabeth made time stand still, especially when he professes his love. I did not see the same chemistry with Firth/Ehle’s performances.

Agree. I'm in my 50s.

I hated that movie precisely because it did such a good job at revealing how awful Emma's behavior was. Gosh I hated her and I couldn't get behind the redemption.

I hated her as Emma.

The best Emma is in the 2009 BBC miniseries version.

Nope. The best version is Clueless.

Probably not the best but the most incredible visually is Bride and Prejudice (Bollywood fusion version). Stunning.

To be honest each version has a lot going for it. I guess if I had to pick one it would be the 1995 version, not that I’ve had 6 hours to watch anything in years….

So Colin Firth version. The best of the bests

They "look awful"? Lol

Yes. The guy who plays Darcy in the KK one is fugly. And KK is too flat.

What?! He’s gorgeous. And the chemistry is through the roof.

What? You can’t be serious. His nose is huge!!! And those beady eyes. He is gross looking!

Colin Firth is way better looking as Darcy.

I've seen all three and beg to differ. 2005 is the most stunning visually.

Haven't seen that version. Will watch if it comes to my current streaming channels.

The 1940s Lawrence Olivier version will always be the best imo.

Oooh. True.

It is a toss up between Clueless and the 2009 BBC miniseries.

The newest movie and the Gwyneth one were far below those two.

I love Jonny Lee Miller as 2009 miniseries Mr Knightley.

The 2009 miniseries did a good job of making Emma sympathetic. Emma is a bit of a unique protagonist for Jane Austen.

BBC version is the best.

The perfect straight/white teeth on all the actors in the 2005 one is so distracting.
