State flagship.
Easy call.

Only if that flagship is UCLA, Michigan, UVA, UNC, or possibly UF. Richmond clears the rest, and with merit, it's a no brainer.

We are in same boat. Richmond with money or UMD. Going with UMD. Better fit.

No way. Not true.

Richmond v. MD? I’d go with Richmond. Smaller classes, better facilities. It wouldn’t be close.

I’d go with the state flagship. Better rep in most instances, unless you are from Wyoming or Idaho, in which case you probably aren’t looking at UR.

Dp, but I agree. And definitely Richmond over Florida, with its reliance on online classes.

Don't be dumb. Compared to run-of-the-mill state flagships, UR is a stronger school with stronger students and much better outcomes across the board.

Maryland is a good school, but it doesn’t have a better reputation than Richmond.

We are going with state flagship. Not one of the ones listed. Don’t have money, though, which makes it a no brainer.

Yeah. Richmond makes no sense unless you are getting serious money.

I’m pp and I agree. If cost is an issue, hard to beat a flagship,

Let’s be real. No one is picking UR over any one of those schools. However, if you are getting a huge scholarship, and the costs are the same, I’d like the kid pick between UR and a UMD or Penn State based on fit. I would be okay with choosing UR if the cost is the same.

Should I be concerned about students surveys suggesting that there is not a lot of race and class interaction at Richmond?

If you are interested in a school like Richmond, the schools above are very dissimilar. The size differential is enormous. W&M is much more similar, but still about 2X the size of Richmond.

Wow. Princeton Review lists it as #4 most segregated campus in 2019. #13 in 2023.
