I agree with one of the commenters, paraphrasing - 'she's from a different culture, it would never work...' She seemed lovely though. I feel the same way about the Kris Kardashian looking woman, Susan. She is a hoot, gorgeous and I love her energy - but she is too much for shy little Gerry. I feel the same way about Kathy, retired educational consultant from Austin. She's getting a lot of air time but because of her matter-of-fact way of speaking. She'd run over poor Gerry, the man can't take it

Team Teresa, Team Nancy, Team April. The rest are "too young" for him Joan and Leslie for example. They look and act much younger than their years. While he acts a little grampa like, he needs a softer energy.

Totally agree that the age thing is going to be a factor. Gerry is 72... he is realistic enough to know that he has physical and mental limits. I'm 54, and I am already seeing my physical (not mental) limits! I want to do more than my body is willing to support! I can only imagine that at 72, he is aware that he needs some rest and wants to move at a certain pace. He needs a woman who is upper 60s or low 70s. These younger ladies like Faith and Leslie are energetic and fun to be around, but I think he's going to realize that they are a little more lively than he wants to be with every day. (By the way -- Nancy is younger too).

I'm seeing him with Theresa. She's similar age. Men love a woman with a big smile. I don't get the feeling that Theresa is trying to prove to the tv audience that she's hot or fired up and ready (like the motorcycle rider -- Faith?). Joan and Leslie are too young. I won't name a name, but some of the botox (or is it a facelift) on these contestants is too much. Not helping matters.

I like Susan too -- it was funny how she was doing Theresa's hair and she's like... "I've been doing hair for 35 yrs... I know what to do!" I like her energy... but not for Gerry. Kathy (or should I say "Rhoda") is too saucy for Gerry... she would run over him.

Eh. There aren't many new shows to watch these days, so people are eager to watch something new and different.
Also, I saw some news articles recently about who actually watches broadcast TV. It is boomers and Generation X mostly. Younger people stream. Older people grew up with TV shows coming on at a certain time and everyone gathered around the TV at the appointed time. They are used to making a potty run or taking out the trash during the commercial breaks. This is familiar and comfortable for them and they want to continue to do this. And those generations have a lot of money.
So it seems to me this is a show to keep the older folks happy.
