Rose Hanbury and Prince William

If Kate gets divorce, she can easily replace William with a billionaire like Jackie Kennedy and Diana Spencer did.

Offered police protection as the mother of future KOE for official public events only. https://www.rd.com/article/things-princess-diana-lost-after-divorce/#

The Crown Jewels belong to the monarch, the nation, not the queen. They pass down from monarch to monarch. Camilla had first dibs on what jewels she wanted. Then Kate or maybe Anne as the queen’s daughter.

NP. Most of the Queen’s jewelry was privately owned. If you look at their provenance, many were inherited from Queen Alexandra, or Queen Mary, or her own mother. Many were gifts for her wedding. Etc. Just like Balmoral and Sandringham are private property and not part of the Crown Estate. The Queen could have bequeathed those jewels to whomever she wanted. Personally, I would think that Charles inherited the lot, with maybe a few pieces here and there directly to Camilla and Kate. Maybe some were designed as “lifetime use” or something.

She didn’t inherit the Crown Jewels. She inherited jewels from the Queen’s personal collection.

Definitely; however, as a PP stated, Kate is all about the status of queen (consort), instead of the money.

I think the difference with Harry though is that he doesn’t have the resources that Charles and Will as the King and heir have. Like William has tons of money he controls himself through the various duchies. If Kate were to get fed up she doesn’t have any real options. Her parents are broke, she’s not aristocratic so her place in those circles might be dicey, and I feel like the BRF is kinda stingy with the divorce settlements. In contrast, it’s unclear to me that Harry can make money without Meghan and he never had that much to begin with . She seems to be the brains of the operation. So if he cheats and she jumps ship that might be a bad situation for him. But none of these men have great role models.

Is this a joke? He inherited millions from his mother, and he's the one who draws attention for books, interviews, whatever.

We don't know if its a happy marriage, a miserable one or just a difficult one due to having three kids, busy schedules, stress and lots of public scrutiny. These years of child rearing are tough for every couple.

At least they are lovers and friends since their teen years, know their duties well and apparently want to be where they are.

Yeah, I'm sure it's that.

H treated her like dogshit on his shoe he couldn't wait to wipe off at the first sign on an aristochick who would have him. I'm sure they are great friends and lovers, truly star struck.

Diana got a $26 million divorce settlement all those years ago and she still got to see her boys. Kate will be financially set in the event of any divorce.

Kate would do just fine in a divorce. Diana got this settlement after she spilled the dirt. Imagine how much Kate could negotiate if she agreed to sign a confidentiality agreement. The BRF likely wouldn’t survive yet another scandal and Charles is smart enough to know that.

Meh. But she wouldn’t have any status anymore. She’d just be a “middle class” girl with broke parents and no career. It’s humiliating. Plus how far would the money go when she has to pay for her own security and housing?

She’ll live in style on royal property with all the security she wants, in the event of a divorce. She’s the mother of an heir to the throne.

So was Diana.

Who was partying in Paris and dating the son if a billionaire at the time of her death. She wasn't a broke middle class person. And Kate Middleton would be scooped right up by another billionaire.

Diana was a daughter of an Earl, she was never middle class. They are not the same at all. I do think Kate would find someone else quickly. But the comparisons are completely inapplicable.

Reported by whom? Delusional Kate Stans Weekly? Why would she do that rather than leave them to her daughter or any of her other children or less likely but possibly Sophie who was her actual favorite spouse? Kate wasn’t close enough to be there on her death bed but was close enough to get $100M in jewels?

So this thread is just nonsense and it doesn't really matter. But consider that each if these posters is entitled to vote in our country's elections, where they clearly use the same high standard for evaluating evidence to inform their voting behavior. No wonder our whole society is f----ed.

Yes! Like when they were dating and he kept jetting off to hang out with Jecca Craig. And then when she eventually got married he attended the wedding solo.

That made me chuckle, PP.

All of Earl Spencer’s money and properties went to his son, the current earl. Diana and her sisters’ only choice was to marry well if they wanted to maintain their wealthy lifestyle.
Many “middle-class” Brits have more money than the minor aristocrats.
