We don't know if its a happy marriage, a miserable one or just a difficult one due to having three kids, busy schedules, stress and lots of public scrutiny. These years of child rearing are tough for every couple.

At least they are lovers and friends since their teen years, know their duties well and apparently want to be where they are.

Yeah, I'm sure it's that.

H treated her like dogshit on his shoe he couldn't wait to wipe off at the first sign on an aristochick who would have him. I'm sure they are great friends and lovers, truly star struck.

Yes! Like when they were dating and he kept jetting off to hang out with Jecca Craig. And then when she eventually got married he attended the wedding solo.

One example of many. William clearly wanted to marry an aristocrat and for that reason I would not be shocked, nay, I would expect him to have an affair(s) with one or more. I'm pretty sure he's made it clear Kate needs to know her place.

Such ignorant assumptions.

Only thing ignorant is you having no awareness of the long history of English monarchs and mistresses.

Fact. Add in that Kate and Wills seem to hate each other. If it’s not happening now, it will. (I do think it’s happening now.)

She seems nice enough but I have a hard time feeling bad for her seeing as how she and her mom chased this prize for years

Oh, I agree 100%!

Does anyone feel bad for her? Weird. I won't insult her intelligence by thinking she'd ever signed up for a monogamous guy who loved her. That's laughable. She's shewd enough to angle for the crown and secure her family's dynasty, but I think she puts up with a ton. She is very gracious in accepting that her fortune comes with a lot of gritting your teeth.

DP. I wouldn’t say I feel bad for her but I bet she didn’t think she would have to put up with quite so much. And it’s probably tough for her seeing how much more freedom Pippa has with much of the same upside Kate has.

I like Kate well enough, but I don’t feel bad for her. She made her bed. The most sympathetic thing you can say about her is that she couldn’t have possibly known the full extent of what she was getting into (and how viscous the family could be to its own.) but even without that knowledge, she knew she was marrying the future king of England and she waited very patiently for a decade for William to make that happen. Pippa would not be where she is without Kate. They would both be living upper middle class lives if it wasn’t for Kate’s long game.

100%!

I don’t think anyone knows the reality until they’re fully in everything.

Oh well, if it gets bad enough, she’ll get out.

Eh, it's probably just the tabloids stirring things up and trying to shift the blame elsewhere.

I think Charles was probably pissed because she did a surprise event at the flower show the same time as Camilla and of course people are more interested in Kate.

I could see this.

Poor Kate. I think it’ll hit a little different when the firm turns on her.

Oh COME ON. I bet THEY asked Kate to do a cameo because she is popular and will draw cameras and headlines. Charles is 70, I doubt he cares about popularity as much as he did when he was 30 and competing with his wife. He probably just wants to take a nap.

I do think he still cares about popularity and still dislike being upstaged.

Nope.
Kate is the work it out for the family type (I am too!) but she has her pride and she would leave if this was going down!!!

You guys are insane.

I’m going to have to agree with this. Everything I’ve seen of Charles shows that he very much cares about his popularity.

Ha, ha no. The ONLY thing she wanted was to be queen. That’s it.

I mean she didn’t leave when he cheated when they were dating but I guess some thinks can change with age.

Even if that is the case they clearly feel comfortable coming after her as opposed to William because he was actually there meeting with the same business man at the same time as Kate but every article only mentions/has a picture of her.

If there was cheating, Kate may be overlooking it if it was a physical affair rather than an emotional affair. She has the long history with William, the kids, and the approval of his family. Both have a lot of incentive to make their marriage work, and neither seem like the type to led their heart rule their head. Neither will ever leave the other one.

I'm sure Wills has cheated. I don't think they look miserable together.

I wonder how it will be when Wills is King and George, Charlotte, and Louis are older/start getting married/have young families of their own. Will Kate stop throwing family members under the bus to get better coverage for other family members? Say what you want to about her chasing Wills, but she seems to love her family and she grew up in a normal, loving family. A family that doesn't play the media games the Royal Family does. Will Kate's normal family upbringing be enough to overcome the dysfunction of the Royal Family/Institution? Or will the Firm win out and we see planted stories about Louis/Louis's wife when George needs some good press? Or will the Royal Firm dysfunction stop at this current generation since Kate won't want that to happen to *her* kids/descendants?

Just shut it down. What a farce the whole monarchy is.

Absolutely not. Her lack of pride and commitment to the institution of the monarchy is a feature not a bug. In some ways, it is commendable. But personal pride? No, I don't think she has that. She wouldn't have allowed herself to be treated like dirt for years if that is in play. Any pride she has, she swallows.

Why is this Kate-bashing thread allowed to continue while the slightest peep against Meghan immediately gets shut down?

Ha! Kate hasn’t needed to throw members of the family under the bus..they seem quite capable of doing it to themselves.
