The No-Kevin votes up to 20 in round 3. I think it was 19 total in round 2?

You have to be present to vote but you can step into the cloakrooms for a snack or bathroom break.

Yes, Jordan picked up another.

Any chance the more "sane" (in quotes because none of them are sane) R's would vote for Jordan (vs the hard liners voting for McCarthy)? Jordan is such an ass I can't imagine him being the one they coalesce around but I don't know what their reputations are amongst the other members.

One round of voting takes a long time so you can probably vote and leave... or leave and make sure you're back in time to vote.

Someone needs to move to adjourn after this vote. Come back and try again tomorrow. Let the Republican donors and interest groups have a night to rig it with bribes and bullying.

If the Jordan voters went home, could Jeffries win the next round?

Love watching Kevin F. McCarthy experiencing political death by thousand rounds of House ballot for the Speaker. If he doesn’t deserve so richly, I don’t know who does! I

"Hey I have an idea - let's put up someone that most Americans never even heard of!"

Most Americans are only passingly familiar with most Republican MOCs.

I bet 60-80% of Americans have no idea this vote is going on today unless they have checked into a news channel. And they couldn't form a meaningful sentence about the role of the Speaker of the House.

All the new Members have their families there to see them sworn in and they have little parties of family, friends, and supporters waiting to congratulate them.

And they’re all waiting to be sworn in, right? But aren’t new members part of this speaker vote? I don’t understand this.

With the GOP, I'd prefer the devil I know. What happens if we get a real true believer that doesn't believe in the fed, is fine not raising the debt ceiling, or is fine with a shut down?
