$2MM across 14K teachers is less than $150 a teacher. I don't think that's gonna move the needle much.

Good point. Do the worst math possible to make it look like no money when in fact, this same amount of money could put another full time science teacher in every single high school.

Exactly. Why the nepotism ?

There's no nepotism. It was in process before Joftus joined the BoE. He's recused himself from any action involving the Kid Museum.

Agree! He disclosed his conflicts when taking this job and has also recused himself from any action involving them. The thing is, there are a couple of unhinged right-wing nutjobs who keep posting about this. They want to make this look like corruption to further their political agendas. This is just another example of the Benghazi treatmnent.

That makes more sense. I knew this was just more of the kooky conspiracy nonsense.

Sorry, there's no conspiracy. Joftus never disclosed his multiple conflicts of interest when he applied to be on the BOE. Nothing in his application and nothing in his interview. Both are public and nothing in either one. It wasn't until after he was sworn in and the media exposed his conflict of interest that he disclosed and then only secretly. The public never knew about his second conflict of interest until this month.

By the way, where was Joftus this week at the BOE fiscal committee meeting? A no show. No mention of him at all. Has he quit the committee? Has he recused himself from participating in everything?

Which "multiple conflicts" did he not disclose? He disclosed his own consulting and his wife's non-profit.

After he was sworn in. After. Is that such a hard concept? He never disclosed anything before he was appointed. He only disclosed after the media reported on his conflict with his wife's company. Never disclosed before.

Joftus has covid? How would you know that? Why don't you tell everyone who in the MCPS PR you are and just sign your posts.

Funny you think hiding a major conflict of interest from parents is acceptable in a public appointment process. What else is he hiding?
