God bless Manchin and Sinema, from one moderate among tens of millions.

1.5 Trillion what's not hard to understand here

He's made his demands known since July

An arbitrary number he's pulled out of his ass in order to obfuscate, rather than being more honest and forthright that it's just about his coal money.

Hmm okay. I can't wait til the December tears. The progressives did this to themselves.

What progressives are threatening to tank these bills? It's Manchin and Sinema who are tanking them.

Meanwhile, while Dems are annoyed and frustrated with Manchin and Sinema, they are still fully aware that the Republicans are even worse and that if the bills fail there will be plenty of anger directed at Republicans. Any Republican in a purple district with potential for losing their seat should be concerned.

Republicans in a purple district...such as? I mean none of these Republicans voted for these bills in the first place and their constituents know that.

Funny you didn’t call out the progressives after they refused to bring the BIF bill up for a vote as Biden requested to have when he landed in Rome

The time has come for Manchin and Sinema to give up on negotiations. The house democrats live on another planet. It's too bad we can't have the infrastructure bill, but oh well.

Manchin is such a chad.

Clyburn thought he was a real power broker during the primary but manchin is the real power (besides Jay powell) in this town.

Those two are negotiating with the republicans about which committees they will chair after taking down the “libs”. They have their marching orders from the republicans and will stop everything. Do not know why people call them moderates. Once they switch parties the republicans can stop all investigations into trump, Jan 6th and pass some tax cuts for the rich(which will cost more vs this bill). Too bad there were a lot of good programs in the bill but M&S do not want either bill to pass.

The Senate has already passed the infrastructure bill, no? Including with some R support. It's the house that is holding it up because the progressives refuse to vote for it, holding it hostage in order to get their social bill. It's difficult to blame this on Manchin or Sistema.

Now divide 1.5 trillion by the ten years it’s spread over and compare it to the military budget…

Where were his big objections when Trump did massive tax cuts and added $7T to the debt?
Debt concern-trolling - is that a thing? That's what he's doing...

Manchin voted against the GOP tax cuts. You can not call him hypocritical here.

Manchin needs to convince Sinema to raise taxes on the rich and then he’ll get his prof forsy hand of how we’ll pay For the safety net.

If Republicans do well tonight, there will be even less pressure on Sinema and Manchin to pass these ridiculous spending spree bills. In fact, a good night for Rs might have the "moderate" Dems thinking about a bloodbath for them in 2022. If this happens, the Administration is going to lose bigly on their legislative priorities.

They aren’t going to switch parties. Manchin only had power as a Democrat - the moment he changes parties, far-right WVa Republicans will flock to primary him and will probably beat him for the nomination given who comes out for a Republican primary vs. a general election.

And Sinema is toast no matter what after this. She has a 25% approval rating among Dems in Arizona so there’s no way she survives another primary. Her chances of winning a primary if she switches to the Republican Party are even lower because Republicans don’t actually agree with stances on most things, the way just like that she’s making a mess for the Dems.

Manchin doesn’t win here unless he can get the Dems to put up BIF without putting up BBB, and the rest of the Dems know it. It’s a game of chicken because each knows they have the other over a barrel. If Manchin can’t get BIF done, that’s going to hurt him. If he blocks the Dems from doing anything on BBB, though, he can expect to lose committee appointments. Dems leadership is done with him.

Yeah, I don't think committee assignments are going to matter much when they lose the majority shortly. Manchin is thinking a year out now.

Wait until tonight. If Dems lose, the panic begins.
