[APS] Who is funding newly-incorporated APE

It's a brilliant move for mostly conservatives to infiltrate the Arl Dems.

APE and the other group (forgot their name) have become echo chambers. Like the media, if you only spend your time in Breitbart/HuffingtonPost and then come to cage matches in DCUM or AEM, you're going to sound like you're in a cult.

I guess you enjoy bringing up the same conversations from a year ago over and over again, so nothing will change.

Cheers!

Great troll move by citing Breitbart when many APE members are actively involved in Arlington Dems

DP. I don't think that's what OP was implying. They can correct me if I'm wrong, but they are using the examples of Breitbart (APE) and Huffington Post (SR probably) as analogies of their respective echo chambers.

So I guess APE is back to teacher bashing. Sigh.

By advocating for higher pay for them and smaller class sizes. Sigh.

It’s a “big tent”. You also get POS teacher / teacher union bullies. They must be fun at the picnics.

Looks like APE is showing us their hand...

Spreading blatant lies about VMPI now in their newsletter?

100% GOP astroturfing.

I have no clue how APE is being funding and whether or not they are a GOP-backed front. That being said... I'm at the point that I am ready to start voting for some republican candidates (although not that nut "Major") for the school board. I say this a life-long Dem voting, hippy-dippy liberal. I have had it with the extreme reduction in academic standards at APS. This was happening prior to the pandemic, and the way that APS handled education during the pandemic didn't help (no-school Mondays, reduced hours the rest of the week for elementary...). The schools need to be teaching kids at THEIR level - bottom, middle, advanced, with the goal of making EACH child the best version of themselves. Right now, APS teachers are forced to spend 95% of their resources helping the bottom 5%, while leaving the rest of the kids to fend for themselves. The 95% are not reaching their potential, nor are the bottom 5% because there just aren't enough differentiated services. It's a crying shame. I love the diversity in Arlington and seeing kids from all parts of the world together, but APS has lost their way over the past 5-10 years.

So.....you're saying you're OK with APE spreading misinformation because you're dissatisfied with APS??

What parts exactly are lies?
Yes there are some very conservative people in APE. I’m a flaming liberal and I am there too. I originally joined to know what the right wing nut jobs were up to. A lot of the most vocal conservatives are gone or keeping quiet lately. In the last few months I have enjoyed the debate and discussion in APE.

DP and to answer your question sally, I have seen APS spread a lot of misinformation over the years, so I will ask you, are you ok that APS spreads misinformation? How about the school board? And for that matter, how about yourself? Are you ok with all the false information you spread?

From the newsletter:
"Here are three key questions we have about the VMPI initialtive:

Question 1: Will elementary and middle school kids still be allowed to be differentiated and accelerated in math? This is a key open question, and one that the VMPI does not adequately answer."

VMPI has very clearly answered this question. They didn't explicitly say that earlier this year, but after the question came up in info sessions they very clearly answered it months ago.
https://www.doe.virginia.gov/instruction/mathematics/vmpi/index.shtml
"* VMPI maintains Virginia’s rigorous mathematics instruction for all students and strives to provide all students with opportunities to receive high quality, highly-relevant math instruction that is tailored to their specific post-secondary goals.
* The implementation of VMPI would still allow for student acceleration in mathematics content according to ability and achievement. It does not dictate how and when students take specific courses. Those decisions remain with students and school divisions based on individualized learning needs.
* The traditional high school pathway culminating in the study of Calculus or other advanced courses is not being eliminated. Additional course pathways will include engaging semester courses in statistics, data science, modeling, design, and logic, among others.
* Local school divisions will still have plenty of flexibility to create courses aligned to the standards to meet the needs of all students; and provide opportunities for all students to advance through the curriculum based on their learning needs. School divisions will also be able to offer advanced sections and acceleration through the courses."

APE is now pushing the same.exact.misinformation that the GOP astroturfers were pushing earlier this year.

This is 100% a question for APS to answer - not VMPI. They are positioning it as a VDOE question right now because we have gubernatorial election happening right now. Early voting has already begun and <40 days until election.

And, while discussion and questions are certainly a great thing and should happen, it's the timing and lies that are totally slimy.

Interesting - Lunch Petitioner and The Fake BLM Profile are commenting on the latest APE newsletter on AEM, and now it appears on DCUM. ArlStar on Twitter also Tweets very similar things to what Lunch Petitioner says.

Are they all 3 the same?

After the whole FOIA incident during the campaign where Lunch Petitioner's husband was implicated in the doxxing 2 people on Twitter, all you need to do is connect the dots. Why does APE live rent free in Lunch Petitioner's head? I think her husband is a Republican too - if she wants to find Republicans, she should look in her living room.

Why don’t you ask them on AEM?

You could sing a little song to them too:

Maybe if you were a little less fcked in the head you’d realize that there are more than three people in the world who think APE is shady AF. Some of them never even post on AEM!
