the story is so over the top i dont want to believe it. since its standard operating procedure to make clear where you stand on things ill do it here quick: dem, what rush said was dumb, he deserves whatever comes to him because of it. now back to my point.........
this could have happened but it requires a lot of dominos to fall in place. first, the daughter goes around telling people at school she takes birth control pills. second, she cant be the only girl at her school to be taking birth control. if there are no 16 year olds taking the pill at the school, im sure there are 17-18 year olds who are. third, her "friends" parents have to not only agree with rush but also have a conversation with the kids about it all that i found hard to believe. as much as i hate people who hang on every word of rush (or any personality for that matter on either side), i find it hard that rush is a dinner conversation topic when the kids come home. |

| I also didn't really get this article or how it was directly related to what Rush Limbaugh said (which obviously I agree was abhorrent). Has anyone read Queen Bees and Wannabes? It was written years ago and talks about this exact thing happening. Heck, I remember this stuff happening when I was in high school myself. |

this MAY have happened but this is all an instance in politics that i hate a lot where there is enough material to hang ther person for (in this case rush) that adding with a story like this doesnt create any more "damage" to the situation. its horrible enough that limbaugh called fluke what he did but to add this over the top story doesnt make me more upset and angry at him. the dramatics dont do it for me |

I'm obviously not a Limbaugh fan, but there is absolutely no justification for violence to be used against him and I would condemn any such suggestion. The best tactic to use against Limbaugh is pressure on his sponsors. Since a large number of them have pulled advertising, this is a strategy which is actually succeeding. |

Daughter of two raging OC conservatives. KFI (conservative talk radio) was on in the background in my house all day long, sometimes during dinner. You obviously haven't been around these types much. I can see exactly how this happened. |

| The issue stated in the OP links would have happened even if Rush had not made his moronic comment. Mean high school girls saw that a girl that they felt to be inferior (note they had targeted her before) was taking birth control pills and took that knowledge to the extreme. The real issue here is why didn't the teacher handing out the pills take care to protect this girl's privacy. If the medication had been dispensed with the proper discretion no one would have had knowledge what medication this girl or any other child on the trip was taking. It doesn't matter if it was birth control pills, ADHD meds, allergy meds, etc., the medication should have been administered privately. Bottom line. The school failed. |

so even if the last part of my rant happened, everything else i stated before had to have happened. i am curious to know if these kids teasing the womans daughter were also teasing the other girls on the pill. if not, then this is just a case of her child being bullied and the limbaugh slut comment is just some new creative way to make fun of her which i find more reasonable. |

What Rush did added fuel to the fire. Young kids with bad role models, in this case their parents vis a vis Rush Limbaugh, tend to be bullies. Yes, yes, everyone is responsible for the personal actions; but people get their ideas from somewhere and then act on them. Calling a woman/girl a slut/whore is nothing new. Doesn't mean it's not despicable. |

poor choice of words with "reasonable" i mean to say i can understand how limbaugh played into teasing as a form of being creative in bullying her.
doesnt mean its right, just that limbaught wasnt the root of the teasing. the girls attacking this daughter would be doing this regardless of limbaught it seems |
