Number one, the bolded line above, not true. The primary benefit of health insurance is preventative care, which lowers the risk of costly emergencies, catastrophes, and other costly medical conditions (like pregnancy!). Good preventative care coverage is cost-effective for insurance companies. If we only insured against costly things, then we'd have more costly things to cover...get it?

Number two: by your logic, if you can't afford to pay full price for any prescription medication, you are a deadbeat if you don't cancel your cable or cell phone to pay for it. Okay.... so, what's the point of paying for insurance then if not to cover prescription drugs and other medical costs that would be too expensive if not for the advantages provided by a group medical plan? Or really, is it just hormonal birth control? And why single that out? What's your logic? I'm failing to understand how making it easier for people to get birth control is a BAD thing???

Following your rediculous logic is exactly why the government involvement in healthcare will be overturned by the supreme court. In the name of preventative care the government can coerce almost any behavior out of it's subjects. Additionally, if you don't recieve food or water or have heat in the winter of shelter.... You will die faster than not having birth control so under your silly logic...it should all be paid for by insurance.....back door communism is stupid.

whoever posted the powers blog, i can tell you know, some dems (im one btw) will come in and say powers is on fox so of course she isnt liberal. i dont agree with that but expect it.

second, i agree that there is a double standard and i mentioned it in so many words in my comment. speaking for me, if its wrong, i dont care what party you are in, its wrong. i just choose not to start petitions and the like for said person. plus i do find it annoying that these arguments turn into playground back and forths with both sides telling each other to ask person X on their side to apologize first like we in a classroom. can we all agree on the merits that what is being said is wrong? can we start with that?

Was there a coherent point in there somewhere that I missed? No one is forcing anyone to take contraceptives, insurance companies are providing the option because it makes sense for their bottom lines to do so. It would not make sense for their bottom lines to provide everyone with heat or housing. Keep going, this is fun.

Public personalities like Rush Limbaugh and Bill Mahr deserve what they get when they say outrageous things, no one is disputing that. If there is a double-standard, it doesn't mean that the behavior people are reacting to now should be excused...or that we should be distracted from discussing the REAL issue at hand, which is not how republicans are persecuted unfairly in the media. please.

I posted it. Yes we can agree.

But what I don't agree with is that Powers isn't liberal because she is on Fox (not that you said it). The would me Alan Colms is a conservative and Pat Buchanan is a lib? Yeah, not so much.

He shouldn't have said it. But the selective moral outrage is ridiculous. Men shouldn't call women names -- period. The comments on Power's blog from the left are absolutely ridiculous and actually just prove her point. Sad commentary really.

Double standard . Just pull your bill Clinton immunity card rush !!!! LOL at the libtards!

Bill Clinton settled the whole issue . As long as you don't murder a woman, you're not as bad as president Clinton and everybody knows he's cool. So what's the issue?

Is this Bill Clinton stuff parody?

No?

...........oh.

As the dashing president Clinton cauterized interns privates with lit cigar, he wistfully recalled dropping trough and cornering a subordinate referred to as "trailer trash" by the lizard-like James carville. After settling sexual harrassmemt claim he giggled at escaping charges in his rape of a former campaign worker and the harrsssment of yet another subordinant. Fortunately, the feminists asked for no apologies as he wiped the dingy yellowing contents of the blue dress all over their stupid feminist faces. Meanwhile the whitehouse realeases a cover that the intern is a "stalker" and the cute boyish prez lied so sweetly. But since everybody agreed with the presidents opinion that hillary is a pig...we let him slide. Rush thinks Hillary is a pig too... So let's leave him alone!

Given how repetitious and lacking in originality it is, I think it's parroty, not parody.

we all have faux outrage based on our political party. Its what makes us more comfortable and rationalize why we choose to be lib or conservative.

Its those of us willing to admit it who i enjoy reading vs those who continue their rage and hurl more profanity laden language who really make me laugh/cringe on this forum.

Howard Stern once called people back who had sent in crazy hate mail about his appearance in a magazine and all of them except one backed down or denied sending in the hate mail. Im sure many of the anon's on this site would the do the same if seen in "real life"

Did they restore your internet privileges at the institution? Doesn't look like it is going to last long.

Cauterizing interns' privates? Seriously, that's what you think happened, or do you like to obsess about weirdo stuff?

some of you need to come up with some original thought and stop repeating everything you hear on the radio and fox news. at least verify the information you post and come up with some original thoughts on your own when you write on here.
