Ugh.

Ugh indeed.

“One of my burning passions about Season 2 is Che,” showrunner Michael Patrick King told our sister site Variety, as part of a Pride Month cover story. “I want to show the dimension of Che that people didn’t see, for whatever reason — because they were blinded, out of fear or terror. I want to show more of Che rather than less of Che. Like, really.”

I wasn't blinded out of fear or terror. I didn't like the character Che or any of the storylines associated with Che. I won't be rushing to watch.

+1. Selfish, playing the field bi woman crass comedian. Pitch it separate from this franchise.

Nah I think it’ll just be more texting. They can’t recast, would never work.

But that's the thing: Che is nonbinary. So it's weird and un-PC for the show to call it a lesbian relationship.

^ and I agree completely about there being a separate Che show

It sounds like the show runners know that without Samantha’s magic, the show kinda sucks.

+100. For all the talk of SJP being a "power player," she sure can't carry the show without Kim Cattrall. It sounds like she's a terror behind the scenes and a lot of actors are scared of speaking up.

Gender identity (non-binary) is totally different from sexual orientation (hetero, homo, bi, asexual).

Che in the show doesn’t say or do anything non-binary. But it IS fun to dress and look non-binary because it bewilders people nonstop. Try it sometime!

The rest of the actors must all have Stockholm syndrome because KC claims the other 2 leads ganged up with SJP in excluding her. Willie Garrison also badmouthed her to the press.

They need paychecks.

Plus they are all awful.

Yes there were some flat moments (I really really missed Samantha- the ladies’ discussions over drinks/meals were just not the same - and Stanny, too- sob!), but I thought the characters aged well and highlighted age appropriate and current issues. I think the 3 lead actresses kept their characters true to their SATC selves while bringing new challenges to them. I liked the new characters, too. I hope this is renewed and I hope that Samantha returns.

just watched the whole season and it's better than I expected.

I was hate watching it at first but it really grew on me.

I like how it’s not woke but anti-woke either. I think it captured the zeitgeist pretty well. I don’t know why people hate on Che, I thought it was a pretty believable character. Somewhat obnoxious but also with redeeming qualities.

It’s great to come out as a trans. But if you don’t agree with having a they mitzvah, you should’ve just said that before the entire party was happening. Nobody called them out for that. But, as the parent of a difficult non-binary child—my kid would totally have pulled that crap too.

Yeah, I wasn't non-binary or trans but I sure was difficult and I would have pulled that on my parents when I was 13, too. I don't think we need to show non-binary and trans characters as being more perfect than anyone else - we don't need them to be perfect angels, any more than we need any other character to be.

I loved that Charlotte got bat mitzvahed. It was lovely.

Gay, straight or non-binary, if I had planned that huge event and my kid had decided at the last minute they’re not doing it, there would have been hell to pay. Life as they knew it would be over. They would need to earn back every single privilege and thing they take for granted. And no, they wouldn’t get extra coddling because they’re non-binary. As far as I can tell, that doesn’t prevent you from having basic decency and consideration for other people.

But it’s a tv show so all was well and nobody cared that the kid was a spoiled brat.

I’m sure it was unintentional on the show’s part but it is truly bizarre that in their quest to show diversity and gender fluidity they managed to showcase both Che and Rock as being narcissistic and selfish and painfully one-note.

Che is not one note. Rock is, but is a minor character for now.

It wasn’t bad but man. They couldn’t have written Seema as Miranda’s love interest? Or like … literally anyone else? And kept Che as the somewhat antagonist who Carrie eventually grows to like and respect?

Season 2 gossip from Michael Musto…..even more Che in S2

A little birdie gave me some hints about what will happen in the second season of the HBO Max hit And Just Like That (the new chapter of Sex and The City), coming next year. Now that Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is dumping hubby to spend more time with nonbinary comic Che (Sara Ramirez), I hear that the show is going to go deep into their relationship. Lots of time will be spent on it — way more than on Charlotte second-guessing herself or Carrie having dreams of Big! What’s more, Miranda and Che’s kitchen sex encounter will seem like nothing since there will now be intense sexual sessions, toys and all, and some of them might even be in bedrooms! (Shocking, no?) Oh, goodie. More sex, less city.
