Curious, how are the District awards decided? Does each coach nominate their own players, then voted by the coaches?

It’s the most bogus and corrupt awards in sports. There are always teams that play much tougher competition than half the district yet they want to nominate girls that have scored 100 goals against teams that aren’t even in the top 20. I could go on and on, so glad that I’m not part of the corruption.

You’d be surprise how top seed teams coaches don’t get COTY. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Chen got it if other coaches are envious and don’t vote for Robo/Woodson coaches. Yes, coaches are petty.

Is there a limit to the number of nominations? Could a team like BF that dominates their district nominate the entire starting lineup?

A coach could, hypothetically, nominate their whole starting lineup. However, this causes votes to be dispersed throughout many players (many 2nd teams and HMs), instead of a few 1st teamers. Depends on if they want specific players to get on 1st or the whole lineup.
