Maybe BF/Stars dad should do some self reflection. Looks like other BF players had no problem making Capital, and BF would struggle against GC, SR, VISI and SSSAS's JV Teams which is the level of "same field" BF would be on. If I was a BF parent I would be looking to get my kid to a private to get away from the negativity.

Constant hating on clubs, schools and players and then defensive when its dished back at you.

There is no negativity with the BF parents about anything because I’m one of them. All the girls that made Capital are excellent players and a great fit for Capital. The others did not fit their mold and have found other places to play. I commend all of them, the freshman and older girls, for just wanting to contribute to play the game we love to watch

If you think the private schools don’t have orange or Pride girls on their team, you are delusional. They even have girls that don’t play club

But some of the stuff about BF, just stop. I for one can say it is not me posting anything negatively about your daughters, but I do get tired of grown a$$ men degrading young ladies. All you are doing is embarrassing yourself

If you notice, when BF played YT, none of the FANS from YT complained (yes, there was an unfortunate incident, but I hope this is fully resolved and won’t ever happen again). And now with the Madison parents, nothing but mutual respect. Anytime we have played teams, there is a level of respect. Yes, we are VERY loud (and you know what pal that is) but it is not anything unlike any other schools who are invested in their kids sports).

I believe The real reason people hate BF so much is because we come from a lower set of income that the other high income schools, so we are looked down upon. I’m not saying BF parents are poor, because they are not. What I am saying is that Prince William as a whole is a much poorer county than all of the other surrounding counties

Now, what is interesting about this is that neither Arlington County nor Loudon County parents ever, or rarely disrespect BF on the board. It mostly comes from the Fairfax and Alexandria parents

And yes, we know who most of them are. A couple were former parents (which is unfortunate, because their parents were loved by the team, but they needed change, and change is ok).

So, yes, we as a school at BF have been working hard to gain respect in Northern Virginia as an actual contender. That is probably why you hear so much about us. I know we can be a little much. But in all honesty, we love our girls the same as you do. I will NEVER trash your daughter, and if anything comes out of my mouth that is interpreted that way and you point it out to me, I promise you that I will think about that to understand why it was interpreted that way so it doesn’t happen again. Because the last thing I ever want to do is disrespect your daughters

So, I would very much like to ask that we all talk about lacrosse, trash talk each other in good harmless fun, BUT, today we keep it respectful and all about lacrosse

Now, I know people are going to continue to rip BF apart. So be it. But I will kindly request that if you are going to talk negatively about BF to NEVER talk negatively about a specific player. There has been a ton of talk about our ASU commit (who has been an amazing leader this year) and now the freshman who won the game against Madison. This is not OK. Today is all I ask. Nothing negative about specific player on ANY TEAM. Let’s try to be better. Because what we do in private will be seen by someone who matters even more in the end.

As far as the, well she needs to go to a private school theory. None of these girls are going pro. So they want to continue to play with the girls they have grown up playing with, and continue to go to school with their friends in order to have a nice balanced life. So please keep you, private schools are so much better theory to yourself. We are fine. If one or more of them want to leave and go to a private school, I for one will be sad to see them go, but I will 100% support them, because that means they think that it’s best for their kid. It’s none of my business, just like it is none of yours

The last thing I want to point out, you all think there is a riff at BF amongst the parents or players. What I would also like to point out is that BF is one of the BEST traveling teams in the state. Our parent sideline is always full of parents to support each other and our players

The real reason most people riff on BF has nothing to do with income (no one cares). It has to do with their obnoxious parents on this board who think they are their team and players are the greatest thing since sliced bread (Mag 7 anyone?!? lol) and the FACT that they have and have had historically a much easier path to regional and state semis/finals then many teams in other regions that could easily beat them. But because of how the regions match up they essentially get a bye to the finals in regions and semis in States.

Sad but true. 5 of 6 teams from same Region are ranked in the top 6. And then there is BF who gets a free pass.

Tomorrow (5/13) they randomize whoever gets first seed. Second seed goes to whoever won the leftover game (i.e. Madison gets first seed randomly, Oakton would get second because they beat SL in regular season). First two seeds get a bye, third seed plays Centreville on Thursday.

I would use the eye test. If you watch the games, you know the standout players. They are fast, consistent, and control the game. The POY could be at any position but will likely be a midfielder from one of the top teams, including YT, Madison, Oakton, Langley, and BF. Each of those teams has one or more that would be deserving. Admittedly, I haven't seen every team, but I would start with middies from those teams.

Patriot District POY is goalie from
WP or Robo

Agree

Coach of year for Patriot?

Coach S from Woodson for taking what is one of the weaker teams in Woodson memory to 2nd place in the district. Impressive that they don't slip even in their down years.

How is 5-9, not slipping? No 10+ goal losses from 2021-2024, but three 10+ losses this season. Two best wins were each by 1 goal. Coach S may have done a wonderful job with a weaker team and great job with 2nd in the district, but unless Woodson goes on a major run in the playoffs, they have clearly slipped. Last season, they went 3-3 in the playoffs. Doubtful, they will improve on that this year. It seems nearly impossible to get above .500 this season. I'm not trying to troll, but hard to argue they haven't slipped based on the numbers.

2021 (11-4) 73% Win Percentage
2022 (17-5) 77%
2023 (17-4) 81%
2024 (12-8) 60%
2025 (5-9) 36%

First losing season, I believe, in the history of Woodson program. Yeah, sure. Give COY to Coach S...

How bad is the rest of the Patriot (besides Robo and LB) that they couldn’t beat them this year then? Clearly none of those coaches should get it.

WP Lost by 1
AC lost by 2
WS lost by 1 or 2

Looks like good coaching with a weak team pulled out some close wins.

Northern Region playoff will be more difficult than State playoff. Not even close.

Will they play the games tonight in the rain?

Oh great, than annual "BF gets a free pass" beat down. I'm glad we didn't miss this year.

Did any of you consider that it does not work in their favor because they play such crappy competition? Only once was the state final even close. Iron sharpens iron and playing the weak tournament schedule preps them for the slaughter. I'm glad my kids have played in an actual competitive district.

They scheduled and played Robinson, Oakton, Yorktown, Madison, and Langley; every thing else is out of their control.

One region has the majority of the strong teams. This isn’t new. Blame it on The VHSL. Unless they change and do a full playoff that separates the top teams regardless of region, and is a full single elimination format, the same results will continue to happen. Other sports have similarly lopsided regions that benefit and hurt different schools, but clearly not a sport your child plays.

I am sure there are other reasons that you chose to live in Vienna, Fairfax or Great Falls besides the high school lacrosse. Maybe focus your energy on that.

No, just a benefit.

They will have a potentially harder opponent if they get to the semifinals in state than Patriots District so how is it a free pass? Regions yes but quarter final in states and semis all opponents will be in top 10 if everything plays out.

As of now (based on LN ratings), B1 (BF) would play A2 (Deep Run #19) in the Qtrs. Assuming that BF wins, then B1 (BF) would play C1 or D2 (Robinson, Madison, Langley, Oakton, or Yorktown) in the Semis. Is that correct?

This year, it seems like the D1 spot will have the easiest path to state finals (C2, then A1/B2), but that also means they had to win the Northern Region.

D2 could also be SL.

Deep Run beat Cosby and will be A1. Cosby will be A2 and will beat Battlefield. You heard it here first.
