But in May 2006, as Republicans hoped to finally push Kavanaugh’s nomination across the finish line, the ABA downgraded its endorsement.

The group’s judicial investigator had recently interviewed dozens of lawyers, judges and others who had worked with Kavanaugh, the ABA announced at the time, and some of them raised red flags about “his professional experience and the question of his freedom from bias and open-mindedness.”

“One interviewee remained concerned about the nominee’s ability to be balanced and fair should he assume a federal judgeship,” the ABA committee chairman wrote to senators in 2006. “Another interviewee echoed essentially the same thoughts: ‘(He is) immovable and very stubborn and frustrating to deal with on some issues.’”

A particular judge had told the ABA that Kavanaugh had been “sanctimonious” during an oral argument in court. Several lawyers considered him inexperienced, and one said he “dissembled” in the courtroom.

That's what all the issues about his work product for years and years not being released was about.

Here’s the FBI investigation:

FBI; please describe the night Judge Kavanaugh was with Dr. Ford.

Mark Judge: I have no recollection of such a night, and I’ve never seen Judge Kavanaugh behave as described.

PJ Smith: I was never at such a gathering described.

Leland Keyser: I have never met Judge Kavanaugh.

FBI: Can you describe any time Dr. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh were together at a small gathering at a private house?

Collective: No

FBI: would you like to add anything else?

collective: No

FBI: thank you we will put this in our report.

FBI report:

Brett Kavanaugh statement, Christine Blasey Ford statement, three witnesses’ account.

Okay I read the statement. The Judge says that she wasn't the one who was pushed and she was dating him then.

She uses the typical lawyer language to leave open the possibility that it was another woman who was pushed, because of course she can't know that he wasn't seeing other women with certainty.

So it wasn't her and we still don't know.

Whoa! After reading this his unhinged testimony on Thursday makes much more sense. What was the WH thinking nominating him? He is not a conservative judge, he is a Republican operative.

I think you answered your own question

Gee. Do you think he maybe wondered why:
Feinstein waited until the hearings were "over" to reveal the letter?
Wondered why Feinstein recommended an activist judge to Ford?
Resented being called "evil" by Booker--as early as July?
Most of the Dems on the committee condemned his nomination from the first day (and, in fact, there was an ad against him that even left the name blank)?

These attacks by the Dems are not just attacking him for a judge--they are attacking him--and his family-personally.

Of course, it was a partisan attack on him. We all know that--but, when Feinstein conducted the Ford situation as she did, it was clear that was dirty pool.

Testify where?

She will likely be interviewed by the FBI and tell them what she knows

Did you know she doesn't want to speak under oath?

It was an attack on Kavanaugh! Poor Kavanaugh! Poor poor Kavanaugh!
Cry me a river.

This was speculation predicting how he might act as a federal judge. At this point he has held that position for many years. There is no need for speculation about how he might be - his opinions and rulings are public. I don’t understand this comment at all.

I am so sick of the liberals here. I am so sick of gossip and the allegations and the accusations based on no evidence. I am sick of the Democrats on this committee, and the ones in Congress who “believe her” because THAT is what is politically correct to do. Forget there is no corroborating evidence. Forget that this man has had 6 background checks and has served 12 years on the 2nd highest court in the land and has been accused of NOTHING.

I don’t know Judge Kavanaugh. But, I know he is innocent of all of the allegations thrown at him. And, I feel deeply for his family and him because this hell he is in has been extended another couple weeks. I also know NOTHING will ever be the same for him. And, that saddens me deeply. And, contrary to what some of you keep repeating - HE did not ask for this. He was nominated. He accepted the nomination. I am sure, in retrospect if he knew and truly understood the tactics the liberals would take, he may not have accepted. But, here were are. And, there is no way in hell he will withdraw now because that would be surrendering and all of you accusations-pushers would dub him as guilty.

People keep saying things like... when the FBI proves (fill in the blank). It doesn’t work that way. You think the investigation is going to turn up “guilt” or “innocence.” It won’t. And, Kavanaugh knows that. He knows it is another week of hell for him because of sites like this and the media that will continue to slander him and print op-eds saying he shouldn’t be around children the longer this goes on. Those of you who think the FBI investigation is going to prove anything are ignorant and/or naive.

I have had one thing reinforced from this whole horrible ordeal. There are no depths to which the liberals won’t go. They do not care about the lives they destroy, because the ends justify the means. I am so glad that I am not one of you.

You people need to put down the Kool aid. Are you willfully stupid or outright crazy? Or just a garden variety troll? As soon as you start talking about "liberals" as though they are a monolith, you lose all credibility. There are crazy posts on these Kavanaugh threads, to be sure, but so is yours. You "know" he's innocent. There are a limited set of people who "know" that, and you ain't one of em.

I'm sure you're also correcting all of the people who "know" Ford is telling the real, actual, objective truth. (For the peanut gallery, I too think her testimony was believable. That doesn't mean it was the actual truth. Brian Williams could tell us all about memories of frightening situations being inaccurate.)

LOL! Kool aid? Go watch the opening of the first hearing on Kavanaugh. Almost choreographed and staged. Ridiculous, unprofessional performance by Dems.

Then, go listen to Feinstein the afternoon of K's last hearing--all the attacks. All the stupid questions about high school yearbooks. Personal attacks. Kavanaugh has had years on the bench and yet high school is the best they have? And, the assault accusations. Look at how Ford was handled by her lawyers--either she is lying or they deceived her.

No. It's not Kool Aid. The spiked punch came from Feinstein, et.al--not Kavanaugh.

Yes I feel sorry for Judge Kavanaugh's family because a very ugly side of him has been exposed for the world to see.

Not even equivalent.
And, it would not surprise me in the least if in reality, where most of us reside, the past of Obama holds a ton more skeletons than that of Kavanaugh.

Literally being called not an American.
Being called a monkey
Having the kids hounded
Being chastised for wearing a tan suit or going sleeveless in the case of Mrs. Obama.

Totally equivalent and for 8 years and with not one outburst or complaint from the victims.

Poor guy. /s

So your concern is wholly partisan.

Brett Kavanaugh was obsessed with Bill Clinton’s sex life to a disgusting degree, and his obsession continues. He hounded the Clintons for no real reason except blind partisan hatred. His sexual obsession appears to reflect his own personal demons. The Obamas were mercilessly hounded and behaved with perfect grace. Brett gets credibly accused of sexual assault and he falls apart.

Not partisan. I am pointing out the difference between the two.

Being called names and having his birthplace questioned vs. being falsely accused of sexual assault/gang rape.

See the difference? It is disgusting.

The conservative media machine has been equally horrible to the Obamas for YEARS. Where were you the past 10 years? Good Lord.

The conservative media and their backers brought us to this place with their lies and nasty tactics. They reap what they have sown.
