DP. The memo only highlights how differently Kavanaugh was treated from Dr. Ford.

Where is the section on Kavanaugh?

They're not. It's just their base, who have to reject truth and common sense and decency on a daily basis in order to remain faithful Trumpers. The rest of us, we think he's damaged goods and should step down for the sake of the country, even if he's innocent. He's not worth what it will cost.

This response makes me laugh.
“Reject truth and common sense?” Are you kidding me? You have an allegation with no corroboration and no evidence and you are accusing those who don’t believe it as lacking common sense?

It will be a sad day in this country when an allegation that is not supported by ANYTHING can bring down a highly qualified nominee. This is a frightening thought.

No, it won't. The fact is the only "evidence" of an assault is often the victim's own testimony. That's it. That's all. If we need corroboration from a witness, then no woman is to be believed ever. The fact that the Rs are now onto some sort of conspiracy that she was in fact assaulted, just not by him or at that time, tells me they, too, understand that her testimony was very credible and they are trying to find a "nicer" way of insinuating she is not credible. I don't think she is. He, on the other hand, is clearly a skilled prevaricator.

Only one element of her entire story, if true, would take it beyond the pale - hand over mouth. Otherwise, a drunk high school boy jumping on top of a girl and grinding into her is quite common. Happened to me. I was relieved he let me go and nothing more happened.

Well the hand over the mouth is totally not ok and very damning. It was that act that forced her to come forward at all.

Yes, as I said, that's the one element not excusable. But we don't know that it happened, or that it was Kavanaugh. I suspect the incident she is putting on K actually occurred years later, with someone else. That's why the polygraph had "early" 80s crossed out.

I also suspect the actual incident was worse.

But for every one of you, there is one of me that believes her clear memory of BK doing that is correct.

But she doesn't remember how she got home?

Repeat for the willfully blind: because that’s how trauma works.

And the person who picked her up doesn't remember a traumatized Ford? Or at least one who was acting strangely? Crying? Very quiet? Something??

Millions of liberals who would believe anything, as long as it helped their case of defeating Kavanaugh.

I am not a liberal.

What are you?

Not a liberal.

Not being sent to scotus is not "bringing somebody down". No one is entitled to that position.
