ICE Shooting in Minneapolis

The disrespect the wife showed the agents and the victim’s refusal to follow orders may have led him to believe that the victim was trying to kill him when she stuck him with her vehicle. I don’t think she was trying to kill him, but she did hit him while driving away, and a reasonable officer could have feared for his life in the situation. This wasn’t some innocent mom, as posters are trying to portray her as. She and her wife were agitators who stalked, obstructed and then committed violence against federal agents.

Everything you wrote leads to the opposite conclusion from a legal standpoint. If she hit him, then he shot, he was no longer in danger and the shooting was retaliatory in nature..

What is clear from the video is that at no timein the video did he state anything or exhibit any behavior that indicated he was afraid. To the contrary, he continued to film. And didn't get out of the way, but stood firmly in place putting himself further in danger. Again, from a legal perspective, militating against the conclusion that this was a justifiable use of force.

This will be the linchpin to his conviction. If he was truly afraid for his life, he would not have been focused on filming.

What a laughable assertion. The video proves he dropped his phone and nothing more.

There was nothing in that video that justified shooting. Nor did it appear that he feared for his life. If Ross did put this video out there, he's a moron.

Maybe because her husband died. What do YOU think it means? Sounds like you’re dying to insinuate it’s something bad.

There is a subset of of criminolgy called victimology. It is not victim blaming. Per google response:

“Victimology is the scientific study of crime victims, exploring the causes, consequences, and patterns of victimization, including the victim's role, their relationship with offenders, interactions with the justice system, and societal responses like media portrayal and support services. It's an interdisciplinary field, drawing from criminology, psychology, sociology, and law, aiming to understand victims better, reduce victimization, and improve support through theories like victim precipitation and by analyzing factors like class, race, and gender. “

It’s relevant in this case, actually in all cases. It can be used as an educational tool to prevent similar victims.

You’re right. Jonathan Ross was a “victim” of a previous vehicular confrontation. Why didn’t he pull his arm from the window when the driver fled? Did he think he could outrace the car? Some stitches and abrasions caused trauma?

Clearly, he’s a textbook case of victim precipitation. Crusty Noem is using this as his defense to a shoot an unarmed women in the face 3 times.

To be fair, Trump put it out there.

But you are correct. This video only further demonstrates that Ross committed murder. The MN AG has a strong case.

Disagree. She was taunting him and aiming right at him.

Yes.

No attorney would ever tell him to release that footage.

Agreed, this video took away a great deal of ambiguity. Minnesota should bring charges soon and let it play out.

where in the video does she aim right at him? Please give a time stamp.

Because to me it appears she turns the wheel to the right and he steps BACK TOWARD the car.

There’s no evidence she stalked or obstructed anyone. And refusal to follow orders does not justify deadly force.

She obstructed the agents by parking her car in the middle of the road, aiming to disrupt a federal law enforcement operation.

The wife admitted to the officers that they follow the agents around. That’s stalking.

They were very unpleasant individuals who believed they had the right to disrupt law enforcement operations.

They were stopped to the side of the road when ice pulled up and did the same. The road was not blocked. The passenger had gotten out of the vehicle and was filming, legal.

Noem accidentally identified him, Trump puts a nail in his coffin, legally speaking.

Let them cook, as the kids say.

Explain this to me like I’m five, please. How can you keep filming and shoot your gun while being hit by a car?

You cannot. It's an absurd take. He walked toward her vehicle to get off the shot.

Or walking around to assist the other agents by her door

He stepped forward to shoot.

I saw a slowed down video of her face, it looks like she saw him at the very last second. She wasn’t trying to hit him.
