Sorry, I wish I had not misspelled Capital because it really undermined my point. But trust me, I know what I am talking about.

Correction: Capital 2028 will be awful.

But not as awful as the way Maryland parents act and behave on the sidelines of their daughters' games. That's awful.

Like, terrible

Couldn’t agree more. We’ve seen some horrible behavior by the MD club parents over the years.

The yelling at refs by M&D and Hero’s parents especially is next level. I think a lot of it has to do the drinking culture at those clubs. In the parking lots, on the sidelines. It’s everywhere

I’ve seen MD club parents bounced from the sidelines for unruly conduct. It’s unbelievably embarrassing, for themselves and their kids on the field.

You’ve seen 2028 MD parents kicked out of games? When, where and which team(s)?

You will see Bigfoot before seeing any 2028 MD parents kicked out of games over the past few years. Ironic coming from the area that has SD leading the way.

Correct, different year (not 28). Which tracks with your acknowledgement that it has happened (just not "over the past few years," as you say). Based on the behavior here, guessing you'll have no problem bringing that tradition back for the 28s. Also telling that no one contested the heavy drinking culture and ref yelling references. All true, which you well know.

Settle down, SD. No one will take away your trophy for Biggest Sideline Psycho. You are in a class of your own.

You do realize this isn’t helping your case. It only shows DMV parents considering moving their kids to MD clubs what those sidelines are really like. Who on earth would want to bring their kids into this environment.

Have you read any of the previous 144 pages on this thread? SD is mentioned on almost every other page and your issue is the parents’ behavior at MD teams? That’s just not a thing.

No clue who or what you’re talking. But I’ve seen with own eyes MD clubbers tailgating at youth tournaments like it’s a Morgan Wallen concert. Everyone sees it, it’s disgraceful. Hero’s and M&D parent yelling at refs is a routine game occurrence - you still haven’t denied the drinking culture (because you can’t) and it took being called out *three times* on ref yelling before you gave that weak-sauce denial. You know you do it - just own it. Thank God Capital’s rise no longer requires DMV kids who want to play in college to have to travel to Balto and HoCo land. I thank my lucky stars my kid is through the recruiting process and will play for a school that would make your head spin.
Someone needs a drink...

And even more defense of parent drinking at 8th grade lacrosse games. Proving the point of the drinking culture that exists there.

Again, since you are dense, you are claiming this happens at 2028 based on your experience with your kid who is in college. Also, so what if people have a beer while watching the game? You are now known as the Narc. Lastly, Narc, you do not even know who SD is which totally undermines your supposed knowledge of 2028 lacrosse. Go tattle somewhere else.

Not the prior poster. Just stop this nonsense. We had a two post exchange about actual lacrosse and back to this.

Not an issue that I have seen with NoVA teams or at tournaments. I'm sure it happens, but if it is not impacting behavior, it doesn't strike me as the topic of the week.

Not knowing who SD is, that deserves shots, not just a drink. And SD is in here posting away, not hard to see their posts.

Having a few pops at a tournament when you’re stuck there all weekend is not an issue at all. Yelling at the refs. and acting like a donkey on the sidelines is a problem. Plenty of people do that with zero alcohol. Don’t lump the drinkers in with the donkeys. Plenty of people have alcohol mixed in their cups and act fine.

Stars LB schedule out for the Rivalry Challenge at Annapolis. Interesting pool.

Stars LB plays LI Jesters Black, #11 last year; CLC, who was ranked #29, and beat Stars LB by 2 last Fall, but generally played much lower competition in the Summer tourneys after going 4-4 in NGLL; and MC Elite...

The two solid strength of schedule games will be eroded by the third, but a good opportunity for Stars to compete with higher ranked teams. They get Jesters first in the morning and will need to come to play.

Thank you for getting back to lacrosse.

This is a fair assessment on Stars LB. I’m still not sure the new girls are going to make that big of a difference though. I think Kathy will help a lot. But ultimately, they will finish around 40-50

Folks who continue to defend it, like you, are obviously the ones who do it regularly. It speaks to the Balto club culture and sends the wrong message to the kids who are watching. And it definitely fuels parent commentary directed at refs from the sidelines. Capital distributes a code of conduct at the beginning of the year that expressly prohibits drinking at tournament events, which speaks to the higher standard the club sets for both the players and the parents.

Again, can we stick to lacrosse?

Believe it or not, some people can have a few adult beverages without making a jerk of themselves.

And even further defense of the drinking culture. This is too easy, can do this all day.

What intellectual stamina - you can post all day on an anonymous Mom’s blog. Take my advice: have a drink. You need one.

Guess that Code of Conduct doesn't address fighting with opponents parents as well as their own parents. Or getting asked to leave by Refs. So much for the higher standard for parents!

I predict they finish the first 2 tournaments at 5-2, losing a bracket game at National Fall Lax Fest and to Jesters. CC Lax (not CLC as noted above) will be a good barometer on where the 23-24 team is.
