catching up on my board reading, i cant believe weve kept this going for so long. im out for 3 days and ive missed so much! damn!

what about the other things she says she has, i dont remember name and youre a nurse so mayb you know but it was a autoimmune disease that her mom and grandma had too, i rembemer her being happy she have a diagnosis besides the fibromialgia. and at the mayo clinic (which is right down the road from me...small world, maybe thats why i remember this) there was stuff she found out from there testing. i felt so bad for her but then that was when kane went with her and fired mel at same time. that was always very suspect to me.

ever since then i wonder about what was really going on. not to mention danni was there and then mel was all of sudden needing too much attention so she left? that cant be right.

as for danni i cant even keep up with it all. she certainly keeps the content flowing, too bad being our daily entertanment cant be her full time job!

Mel was not fired. According to the story she gave on Sarah's podcast, which sounds logical, she gave her notice that she did not want to renew her contract, but would work the remainder of it. TKS/iHeart told her that if she wanted to do a farewell to the listeners she had to either say she was tired of getting up in the morning or going back to school, but of which she did not want to do since she had already been going back to school (and had previously mentioned it on the show), and the waking up thing was stupid.

Mel thought the story Kane gave on air about attention portrayed her in a poor light, which it did. There was definite tension between her and Danni on air (which surprises why they are trying to maybe buddy/buddy now), and she had issues with IJ off air as John has mentioned in previous periscope chats.

Regarding radio formats, you were right about 99.5 being the only top 40 (or going by this chart, a contemporary hits station: http://dcrtv.com/mediaw5a.html), but if you listen to the stations that play similar music, you will realize that you are not missing much between them.

Yes, the morning drive is pretty much how a radio DJ can go from making piss poor money to actually being able to live, especially if the morning show is syndicated, like TKS. I just don't ever see EB doing that though. The nights is where she rocks and shines. The fact that she does nights on multiple stations and she's made a name for herself and still making that name. I just don't think she'd make that jump. Plus something tells me she's doing pretty ok finance-wise.

She has "joked" about finances here and there, mostly because she had a goal last year of going on a trip every single month, which she accomplished.

It wouldn't hurt for another station in the area to flip to top 40 to give WIHT a run for their money. Granted Cumulus tried it with RQX, but given that that company is in the shitter as well, I'd like to see CBS try and launch a CHR station in the market with a morning show that has a huge local focus.

Doubtful CBS will make any big moves in the future. They are looking to sell their radio stations or possibly do a spin off (http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/cbs-radio-stations-sale-investors-1201730033/). Plus, they tried competing with the top station in DC in terms of all day news (WTOP) and failed miserably pulling the plug on their station in early January or late December. With the potential sale/spinoff and failure to successfully enter the market against a competitor in another format, I don't think any big changes are coming soon.

Tommy McFly and Fresh is about as close as they will come for the foreseeable future.

I must be one of the anti-Elizabethany listener on here. She's like a crude version of Rose to me. She posts a lot of "news" story recap on Hot 99.5 and I never liked her tone. I remember there was a story of a woman dying her hair and doing her makeup to look like Kim K., and Elizabethany straight up wrote "this bitch had too much money and free time" on the story headline. Alright, I dislike Kim K., but why call another woman a bitch for trying to look hot? And that's not the first instance of crass headlines I've seen from her. Regardless, I've never listened to her show at night, so maybe she's a lot better than Danni.

That's funny considering how many times Elizabethany has asked for opinions about her hair and what to do with it, and now she has dyed it purple multiple times over the past six months.
