I remember around ten years ago, some Democrats were saying it is treason for the Republican majority House to not pass the budget Obama requested.

the democrats will not supporting affirmation of the BBB which they had no part in crafting.

Somehow Republicans managed to support continuing resolutions of budgets they did not approve.

This is not in keeping with the DCUM site narrative that it's the GOP's fault.

How dare yew!!

Shrug. Republicans control the House and Senate. You’re dumb if you can’t see why they’re responsible for the shutdown. Majority of Americans agree; it’s on the Republicans.

Tell us you don’t know how the senate operates. It takes 60 votes genius. Republicans don’t have 60 votes. Hopefully they will after the midterms with the childish games the Dems are playing.

Ok? I mean they could grow the F up and pass an appropriations bill. Ya know, as they are elected to do. Big whiny babies.

They passed the clean CR idiot.

The Dems are the ones keeping the government shut.

A CR is not a full appropriations bill. Even the CR wouldn’t go past Thanksgiving.

Spin it any way you want. There will be a vote to open the government. If Democrats vote it down it’s on them.

The easiest path to reopening the government is for enough Dems to simply vote yes and at some point the lesser of two evils option may become voting yes to re-open the government but until we've reached that point, we can't fault Dem politicians from refusing to re-open the government if they honestly feel more harm will be done to the American public by re-opening the government with the CR as it is now.

The bigger picture here is much uglier. A continuing resolution is typically an alternative last resort measure used to fund Federal Government operations in times when our Congress fails to pass the annual spending bills by the deadline. The fact that our Congress can't even agree to pass a CR with the government being shut down for over a month tells us all we need to know about how dysfunctional our Federal Government has become under the rule of these two corrupt political parties. Disgusting!!!!

Of course. If it were the full bills, then the Senate Democrats cannot filibuster.

Uh, no. You’re confusing the budget reconciliation process with the appropriations process.

As a Democrat I have no problem with this plan.

He has an obligation to shut down air travel if it isn’t safe. There was already one massive crash on this administration’s watch along with several mishaps and Duffy’s wife avoiding Newark.

If the subsidy for ACA is approved, who pays it?

Then surely they should be negotiating to get to 60? Especially when the democrats are being very up front about what it will take to get their votes…

Another federal union said government should only open with an ACA fix.

The federal government. Is this where you start hand wringing about federal debt? If it is, I’m sure you’d agree it would be better to end Trump’s $4.5 trillion tax cut for the super rich passed earlier this year, yes?

Where does the federal government get the money to pay for the subsidies?
