FC Virginia

And have you seen the threads for the other clubs? They all look like **** shows.

Seriously...who isn't a **** show?

And then inevitably someone says "well so and so for the (fill in gender) is a disaster"

"It all depends on the coach"

And then someone drags the lower teams.

And someone talks about how terrible US soccer is and no one develops properly.

And then there is the debate about which league is actually better.

If someone makes heads or tails out of the "information" given to them on this site...kudos to them. Cause it generally feels like Sisyphus.

Yes it does. Prospective parents do change their mind on this forum. It's why FCV would regularly post here just to get their name on the first page.

The most helpful advice I've seen on any thread is to setup id sessions to get your kid better visibility with the prospective coach before tryouts. I would hope any parent is smart enough to ignore the rest of the nonsense.

So you finally admit that you are actively trying to slander this club and cost them business? I’d tread carefully bro. Defamation is illegal in the state of Virginia.

As a club family, I will say that we are happy so far and really excited for the training and events schedule. I see only evidence of good things so far!

FCV is last on the priority tree for PRCS field space, as it’s measured by rec kids in your program who reside in the county.

They can’t change that.

But for the three dads that keep posting in here about “we like the coaches and their play style”. What style? Half of them are referees coming to coach for the first time and Bastien did boys teams. Cmon.

Yet you seem to get some pleasure around telling everybody on this board how right you are. Nobody cares. Move on, we all get that you had options and moved to another club. If you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say it. Nobody (except yourself) has asked about your perspective around half of the topics on this thread. You are just making every parent who has left look like a serious part of the problem. The account of a game this past weekend only proves the point that current and exiting parents are part of the problem.

What age group this weekend or what happened?

What age group?

Based on description, it was likely ABs 2015 FCV North team.

Does this really rise to the level of defamation? How is this that mich different from leaving bad Yelp reviews?

My 20+ years of watching Law & Order have taught me that if they can prove motive and intent, then it does rise to the level of defamation.

Fcv has social media to post their fluffy BS. I find it absolutely hilarious you're acting holier than now against people literally explaining their own opinions and experiences with this club. I've had numerous conversations with people looking at trying out about this club and why we left. I only know one family that's staying and that speaks of volumes to the club's current state of affairs and the lack of confidence former fcv players have in the club and AB in general.

I'm no lawyer (probably should just stop here while i'm ahead) - it's only slander if it's false and there has been a bit of truth in everything said so far and for Defamation or Slander they have to show actual damages, not hypothetical damages. Which would be nearly impossible because families switch clubs all the time and typically when a player signs up for the year they're signing a contract to pay in full. Throw in the transient nature of their customers they won't be able to prove that someone didn't come because of something posted online.

At first, when I heard that FCV was planning out for the summer - I thought "WOW. They've really got things together."
But, in talking to a family that is staying, it seems those summer workouts are needed to host ID sessions for teams that need players.

I don't think forum is costing them business - they've done it to themselves.

If they are still hosting ID sessions in the summer I would be concerned for the GA teams.

What are the summer plans? Girls or boys?

If you can be trusted to be who you say you are (a former club parent) then what you don’t seem to grasp is that this is your PAST experience. We heard you. Thankyou for your service. We can take it from here.

Current families see good things happening NOW and choose to be optimistic. If the upcoming year is not good, then we can leave. I’ll base that decision on REAL TIME data and MY experience. You are not with the club or in the loop so you’re information is outdated and not relevant.

What I can’t understand is why your still here???? I cannot think of any reason except: 1) you are unstable or 2) you have a grudge you can’t get over (see pt 1), or 3) you are not a former parent but actually a competitor club trying to slander the competition.

Any reasonable and sane former club parent would share their feedback at the time and move on instead of coming back day after day to talk about the past and constantly try to get intel here about the present for a club you’re not even in. Nothing about your behavior is normal or smells right.
