Ukrainian victory over Russia is inevitable

I’d like to see a sneak flank through Russian territory cutting off south western Russia from the war - but I do not think they have enough resources for that. But if would be cool for Ukraine to occupy a good chunk of Russia for a while.

Why would it be cool?
I ask this as someone who thinks that of course Ukraine should have its land back.
The chunk you are talking about has people who aren’t supportive of the war and who have suffered as it is

It makes it harder for Russia to invade Ukraine again if if they first have to liberate their own territory- or Ukraine uses it as leverage in peace talks as a new DMZ. It’s the upper hand.

Not sure why you think those Russians do not support the war- have you asked them? Got a poll to reference? Russians love Putin across the board and support the war in every single poll ever conducted.

Negotiated end is not beneficial for 🇺🇸

Why not?

I see. I come onto your property and then I tell you that if you don't give me some of that property I will kill and maim your children. So I give you the property and that is so beneficial for everyone.

But the US isn’t being affected except getting new gas markets and spending some money
So why not settle for what there is and negotiate

Because it's not up to us. If Ukraine wants to negotiate after this counter-offensive is done then we will support them but it's not our choice. It's up to them. Of course the far easier situation for everyone involved is for Russia to just go back home.

In what world do you live that Americans would not spend money to kill Russians?

We are wired to kill Russians- they are the most fun to eliminate soon to surpassed by the Chinese after Ukraine does our bidding. We will find Ukraine as we prepare to fight China- if we have to actually fight Rudy it will be a speed bump on to the real war.

Russia is a has been. Drop the mic.

War will be over soon. Russia is going to hit depots in Poland.

France, UK and America are tracking Russian subs. First strike there.

First strike above surface and game over. World is out 100m Russians.

China gets radioactive leftovers.

No real loss.

If Russia gives back the territory it will be a sign they are weakened as hell and won’t invade any time soon.
I have a lot of Russian friends both in the US and in Russia (due to my work), and it’s common knowledge that people don’t trust pollsters and it’s dangerous to say you don’t support the war. Most people I know just want to be left alone and live life. They are traumatized by the 1990s and have the generational trauma from all the revolutions and wars and they just don’t have it in them to support anything that disrupts their lives.
I do recognize the need for some buffer land and why should it be Ukraine and not Russia; but it’s just sad that ordinary lives on both sides were upended like this. This is a useless dangerous war and it shouldn’t have happened. Now mind you, I am not saying Ukraine should surrender or anything along these lines. I just can’t wish ill on civilians on either side, that’s it.

Isn’t Russia supposedly already weak enough? Or do you mean like physical annihilation?

Honest question: how much autonomy do you think Ukraine has in deciding whether to negotiate? Of course they can’t be directly told; but if they are informed that there will be very little aid and there will be other items on the agenda in the near future and they are taking a back seat - is this possible? And what would they do?
I am super curious about this power dynamic between Ukraine and the US and EU. Russian propaganda pictures them as puppets which is not true, but I find it hard to believe they are free to do whatever they want either

Ukraine has 100% autonomy of whether or not to negotiate. They don't have a desire to do so because they think, for good reason, that Russia is not a trustworthy partner. Moreover, Russia has committed heinous war crimes against Ukrainians and continues to state that their goal is to end the concept of Ukraine and Ukrainians. It is impossible for them to negotiate under those conditions. It is also pointless.

Of course they are not.

In the early days of war, Turkey tried to play mediator. Then Ukraine’s foreign minister said in an interview that “our partners won’t be happy if Turkey succeeds in this, and we depend on our partners, so Turkey won’t be it. “. Please. There is no independence there. But I do think that by now Zelenskyy grew to believe his own PR and is getting too uppity. In fact, I low key fear for his future bc 1. he flew too high and will crash too hard and 2. no one can live up to the myth built.

If Russia wants to negotiate then it is going to need to make a lot of changes to its behavior. It needs to stop the terror tantrum attacks on civilians. It needs to stop denying the existence of Ukraine and Ukrainians. It needs to stop threatening to blow up chemical plants. It needs to stop torturing and starving POWs. It needs to create the conditions that promote rather than prevent reconciliation. Unfortunately for Russia it only seems to know one way of doing things, increasing violence. If it wants to escape without massive reparations then it needs to start adjusting its behavior to enable a vision of future peaceful co-existence.

Lol, what utter hogswallop.

Zelenskyy is Churchill. Churchill lost the election of 1945. It's not a big deal.

Ukraine needs to hold out till the republicans lose the next presidential election. A republican lose will be devastating for Putin.

It's a verbatim quote from his interview. I can try to find it for you.

Of course then you had Zelensky who told WSJ "let's not compare who should be grateful to whom for what."

He's not Churchill and does not have the secure upperclass background into which he can gracefully retreat.

Russia needs to lose more than losing in Ukraine.
Look at Germany - they have had 3 generations of a guilt burdened population. Even now many young Germans are still embarrassed to be German because of WW2.

Russia needs to be put in a box for a few generations and then see if it can rejoin the world’s civilizations.
As of now, they are just nazi-wannabes who have nothing to offer other than rape, torture and death.

Ukraine was ready to negotiate a week before invasion. But Biden stepped in and told them to fight and promised $$$. The fight will stop the minute US stop funding it.
