Wow - a travel team parent complaining about TRAVELING while simultaneously identifying your team AND degrading other players on the same team. I'm sure you are a joy on the sidelines.

The kids won't remember the scores a year from now, but they will remember the fun they had with their teammates at the hotel, team dinners, and the fun in between games.

That is valid concern and hopefully the parents had a chance to veto this. At the 1st sign of something like this, organize a meeting with your team manager and get a consensus of parents to not participate.

There is no need for the 3rd or 4th team to travel so far unless all the parents think its a good idea. Tournaments should either be fun family vacations or for the development of the players. You're right, your team could have saved thousands and just played in a tournament locally instead at your level.

There is even data that says bringing young players to too many away overnight tournaments will burn them out.

The point of *travel* sports is that elite teams sometimes have to travel to find even competition. There is no reasonable explanation for a mediocre u10 team to travel six hours away.

Maybe pp can stay home and then the rec level girls can get some playtime. Win win.

Seems odd that this wasn't covered in your meeting or at least MONTHS ago... as that is when they generally register for tournaments. There really isn't much of an opportunity to veto, although I supposed the team could be a no show, but yikes.

Sorry your team isn't great, hopefully they have a good experience at the tournament.

It appears it is the u10 top team that has traveled to North Carolina. Unless their gold team is their 3rd or 4th team.

It appears it is the u10 top team that has traveled to North Carolina. Unless their gold team is their 3rd or 4th team.

It's to make up for them not making that team go to Williamsburg.

Wow, just noticed they have four teams on the girls U10. That's hilarious and sad. The bottom two teams must be truly terrible.

Valor girls side teams are generally not good even the "gold" or "pre-ecnl" teams.

They had that last year too. They couldn't hold that many players for u11 this year and the second team is BAD. Retention past u10 on the girl's side is really hard, especially good players. Their top team picked up second team players from clubs like VRSC, which didn't even have a second team until last spring. Yikes. doesn't look good imo even if they somehow managed some wins this season in pre-ecnl.

Are they? Don't know anything about those teams, but looks like they have clubs traveling from Jacksonville, Cleveland and Maine?! going there?

Don't most clubs collapse in team count when going from 7v7 to 9v9 rosters (then again at 11v11)?
